Tiger 59...Worst ship in the game?

Hi guys,

 

Caught this on you tube this morning and thought id get your thoughts.

 

Having the title Worst ship in the game is quite a claim especially if you have to pay for it so for those of you that have this ship or played it im wondering what your thoughts are as there seems to be quite a divided opinion ie it actually takes skill and know how to make it work and its acceptable as it is? 

Mountbatten does make a few good points though in regards to the current power creep of caliber size ie she is playing in tier X games with 457 mm guns now and that's going to increase in 2022 and as a premium she gets up tierd more than not so...

personally i think she needs a buff or two to stay relevant especially in the DPM area.

She is of course a historically accurate ship for once BUT that doesn't seem to do any justice these days in WOWS (is it even relevant anymore?) as there are just to many phantasy ships that can blow stuff away with a single volley so its not like being historically accurate is an advantage is it? My point being if she was changed/ buffed and was no longer historical would it matter to you as an owner or would it be justified, as some like to have historical accuracy somewhere in this game.

 

If you agree this need buffing (which lets be honest ...it does) what area would you like to see improved?

Personally i would be happier if it came in to line more with the RNL  line and was given torps at 10klm and increased DPM. That's about all in needs imo to be more relevant and certainly useful in the game. 

One thing i do want to make clear is....The worst ship in the game ( or one of them) SHOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT BE A PREMIUM SHIP YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR. That's not doing you any favors for you reputation WG.

Cruisers it seems are less and less in numbers atm, is this a classic case of why? just....poor design for the environment its entering?

I have it and it is certainly not that bad, its better than Ochakov cause it gets super heal and smoke + radar as utility. the def AA is and overall AA is a bit lacking to what I expected to be. I didn't buy the ship, I got it on my birthday cause one of my friends wanted to troll me 

I would give it 4.5 or 5 out of 10. in Ochakov you have no heal, no smoke, and your torps are very meh, not much useful (why WG nerfed the range from 10km to 8km idk). Tiger is one of the weaker ships in the game but not the weakest.

And it really hurts to see ships like Fenyang or Yueyang get a couple of buffs while this ****** ship is still completely unfun to play.

 

Yes, you have radar and smoke, but there are a lot of situations where you simply die because you lack of DPM. Or in general: counterplay.

 

In fact, the best part of the ship is its armour(!)!

Got it from santa containers...didnt even bother with it exept go into co op and get the steel

if someone pushes you - no hydro and no torps. Yes, its situational. I play it in division cause solo it sucks.

Tiger '59 is certainly a weak ship, but it's nowhere near the worst. At least it has some good teamplay utility.

 

I don't actually know what I'd consider the worst ship in the game. I'm tempted to say "Hawkins" but I suspect that's merely caused by my having played it recently.

Like i commented on YT, Tiger was an air defence carrier escort cruiser, not really designed for engaging ships directly which is why she performs poorly compared to other cruisers. I wouldn't say she's the worst as she brings good utility, its a ship you bring in a Division. Only downside is her AA is not as good as I would expect given her design. She does look nice though.

I Thought this too but are we getting a little too close to Belfast territory here? Not that that's a bad thing

You know, if they buffed the reload from 3.2 down to somewhere between 2.5 and 3.0 seconds, I would consider buying it. Yeah, it's not a good ship, it's never going to be a DD or cruiser killer, but it brings some decent utility. As a light cruiser main, I like many features of the Tiger'59. Most notably it's low concealment and good manoevrability, combined with the superheal. The DPM is the main issue right now, in my opinion. Anything over 3 seconds just isn't viable enough (especially at T10).

Well, I sometimes get some video suggestions for his channel, but it seems that he is always quite negatively influenced regarding almost all topics.

So he benefits from simply having a negative WG attitude but without any reflection. For a youtube channel that includes comments, this is not enough.

But this is my personal opinion.

Honourable Mentions

Omaha. Made out of Citadels and Matchsticks.

Pensacola. Same as above.

And pretty much any Tier 5 cruiser.

Kansas. Yikes.

 

These are far more painful to play than the Tiger, admittedly the Tiger isn't that fun to play either, There's just a fair few more contenders for the title of Worst Ship in WoWs than Tiger.

Maybe, maybe not BUT Belfast is T7 while Tiger is T8, she has only 2 turrets (can be knocked out fairly easy by heavy cruisers and BBs) as compared to 4 and she doesnt have hydro, also compared to T8 Belf version she dosnt have torps...

 

Besides "muh HE + smok is toxic combo" is last decade for WG  -> Smolensk, that new Pan-Asian T9 smol clone, Perth Huanghe, the entire Pan-Asian god damn line...

Slightly O/T, but WG do seem to have released an awful lot of mediocre to bad ships recently.

A lot of newer premium ships are ok at best and most underwhelming: z-35,fenyang,leone,tiger 59,belfast 43(this one is really bad they nerfed it so hard compared to the original that they forgot they are making a t8 premium),karl schonberg(the other tier 6 german premium dd with 15cm guns). The worst premium in the game? Maybe but there so many candidates that is quite tricky to pick one. The worst ship? Sorry but that title goes to the soviet tier 6 DD Gnevny: Underwhelming guns, horrible torpedoes, bad concealment, poor utility. The ship is so bad that is not even funny it cant do nothing. It makes gremiaschy look like a better t6 ship and T-61 like a t7 destroyer. The ship is as big of a insult like being detonated and getting the detonation achievement, straight middle finger from the developers.
