Just spent half a game bobbing up and down stuck and then upside down.

Real quality gameplay.

Sounds like cowgirl riding, followed by a standing 69...

It's a good thing the devs invested so much time and effort in creating underwater worlds, instead of wasting their skills making new maps and operations like the players repeatedly asked for.

I hate to correct you but subs are not gone. I had the real pleasure to sink one and the dubious pleasure   to have them on my......side in some matches . One was a wolfpack div which literally did nothing other that spamming the chat and the other... well....it seemed to don't understand that he has the best vision in the game and proceeded to go forward....... at quarter impulse. Yeah.....

Don't worry. Submarines are here to stay. They will be back next patch with a vengeance because they get buffed to more ridiculous degrees than anything else in the game ever has been buffed in order to force them down players' throats. The goal is to top off the magic spreadsheet for the investors and the boardroom, after all. MONNEYYY!<!1

They will be immune to radar and they will be able to engage multiple targets at the same time.

Wargaming desperately wants subs to happen and thus they will make subs happen.

At any cost.

WG could also make money from putting again Kamikazes and Fujins back in the premium shop if they want it that bad. And people would actually play and buy those ships, unlike subs :Smile_trollface:. The old reason of "too stealthy ship that vomits torpedos" to remove them from being sold is meaningless anyway now that they are introducing a full class who's whole point is precisely that, only proving this is a good thing these days.

Which brings us neatly back to a fun little game called "Giving Wargaming Bad Ideas".

Seriously though, they will not do that because those Fujins and Kamikazes (and Belfasts) might hurt subs, which need to be protected so more people play them.

Hence also the massive depth charge nerf.

Sub. A prefix very often meaning something lesser, like in sub-optimal, sub-standard etc. A bit like WG's developer staff. Just remember that when seeing one and things look brighter already.  Besides, you could always quit when being in the same match as them. Or just quit all-together. Save your sanity.

Sounds like a heck of a lot work for something that can be done without fancy positions. But hey, I'm just an old boring sod.

There are ample reasons subs aren't played that much and not even due to gameplay.

IMO the most important thing is that they're mission earned, which has a number of annoying consequences for those who do wish to play them:

- Not always available

- They do not contribute to all mission types as much as other ship classes

- They're not available in each mode

- Often unclear when they'll be available to you again. I've unlocked them quite often without even becoming aware that I did and completely ignoring their existence.

- When they are, you have to do a lot of micromanagement:

  • reinstall modules
  • set captain
  • throw away old captains
  • set flags
  • set camo

That's more than enough reason to not bother with reconfiguring them over and over for me at least. I might pick one to try during the period and train a captain, but barely play them due to the hassle and requiring other ships for missions. You'll probably see more people pick them up once they're added, simply because it's less of a hassle.

But hey, let's all pretend it's just because nobody likes to play them, because one dimensional prejudiced black and white thinking is what WoWs players love. ;)

Subs are like penises.........its ok to have have one, just don't take it out in public and shove it down someone's throat.

Oh, thanks for telling me. I have always wondered why bystanders appeared to be kind of upset.

There are probably million times more people who like penises showed in their throats then players in WOW who like submarines in game.....

A "silenced majority" vs. a "silent majority"... :Smile-_tongue:

Well, this is a hard choice for me.

Plot twist: I hate submarines.
