What are some of the most frustrating moments for in during a battle?

I have to say mine is with the Massachusetts. I have a love/hate relationship with this ship because sometimes it really delivers and other times it just makes you go WTF.

I was just in a battle where an IZUMO was giving me broadside almost the entire time and this is when this ship decides to spray it's salvos in every direction but straight across. This ship really needs the Aiming Systems Mod but unfortunately it doesn't have it.

Makes me want to pull my hair out at times.

Yeah Massa dispersion can be temperamental at mid to long range. Still prefer the gunnery to French shotguns personally.

Let me guess: spotter plane + salvo from 20 km. And no FP :Smile_trollface:

Massachusetts is supposed to be played from mid range: it has very good survivability. Secondary build is a viable option.

The downside is the bad sigma and meh dispersion.

The ship with the best dispersion/sigma from that line is Georgia: try it if you have it. And you can equip it with "dispersion" module. But it's not an easy ship to play: it requires good positioning.

The moment when you realise that despite the fact you and maybe one or two other ships on your “teams” weak flank are holding the flank and cap localy against 8 or 9 enemies the rest of your team is getting slaughtered on the other side by the 3 reds one by one and you are about to lose by zeroing out…

Actually you guessed wrong.

'Teammates' sitting in smoke not shooting at anything until you have whittled them down to almost no hp and then they shoot to get the kill.

And deliberately sailing into your torpedo spread just to launch their own which sink the ship yours would've....

Bring back team damage so I can at least shoot them...:Smile-angry:

Yesterday I was in the Colbert and the ZF-6 on my flank refused to spot "because the Neustrashimy outspots me" (by what, 200 meters?).

Instead, he smoked up and started shooting...at no one, since we had no spotting otherwise. As expected, he even took a torpedo in the face by said Neustrashimy.

As a result, we were at the mercy of their BBs, who flanked us for a lot of easy damage.

Also this today:

We were even on ships, 3-0 on caps and ahead on points, but lower on hp.

Of course, I told people (in chat and individually with quick commands) to fall back and play it safe. So naturally:

1) the République, on 6k hp, pushed :Smile_facepalm:

2) the Shima went torping a Moskva on the A line, failed, was radared and died :Smile_facepalm:

3) the Balao went torping the same Moskva, ran out of battery, was gunned down on sight. He wrote "I ran out of battery", as though his plan was sound and that was unexpected :Smile_facepalm:

Radar ships that stubbornly refuse to activate it and only do so  when there hiding behind and island or the dd in smoke has killed you.

My most frustrating moment in a long time, one that caused me to bang my desk and swear loudly (getting complaints from sleeping wife one floor above me), was yesterday holding a flank alone in my Yamato against 3-4 BBs, occasional potshots from 2 cruisers and an unspotted DD, while our team lemminged to kill the enemy CV.

I mean we won the game, yes, I got decent BXP (like 1700), and I guess I contributed by keeping half their surviving team out of the fight for 4-5 minutes, but my God was it frustrating. Like if I had some help, any help, we could stalled that flank and I would have survived.

It's kind of like those games where you know your team won because the enemy carrier rode your a$$ all game. A cold comfort, because you still had a miserable experience.

Players switching flanks at the beginning of a game, those that go from A to C for no reason leaving the flank unprotected.

Having had a great BB or cruiser match with worthy opponents while dodging a noob 42% WR carrier torpedo and bomb attacks succesfully. Endgame left with 2-3k HP due to heavy surface to surface battle carrying the team. Noob carrier flies in your direction: full squadrons of rockets. WG ->  ..|..

I hate the ones that will follow you toward a cap and just when you are about to get there turn around and head off to someplace else after asking you to come with them.

Mission - Get 64 "Spotted" achievements with a DD. 6 of 7 consecutive battles played featured a CV who instantly spots the entire enemy team at the start. "Son of b****!!"

Mission - Get 12 "Capture or Assisted Capture" achievements. Battle after battle featuring maps that basically have no realistic cap options whatsoever. That, and when finally a map featuring a few cap options comes along the entire enemy bot team decides to focus the one I go to and I still end up with none.

WHY?!!!! WHY YOU GOTTA DO ME LIKE THAT WG?!!!!

Getting uptiered +2 and having no chance against the enemy team. And then having WG tell me the slightly increased XP, that I'm not getting due to being deleted, compensates for that.

I wouldn't say anything frustrates me more than people throwing a game that is practically won and being able to do nothing about it. Besides making a mistake that caused you to not being able to do anything about it. That and the things I read on the forum on a daily basis. It is both hilarious and sad.

Losing a game at the last moment because you made one mistake

I'm kinda ok with that, actually? Like at least the victory/outcome of the battle really was in your hands. Sure, you think about those moments and what you would have done differently, but I don't actually mind that so much.
