So this is it for New Year, I suppose it sums up 2021 in a Nut Shell

So I can grind out 600 star tokens over the holiday period, and buy a further 300 star tokens for 20 million credits.

900 star tokens gets me 60 Christmas Navy collection containers.  

In these crates I need to collect 24 elements and if I get a duplicate I can swap that at a 4:1 ratio.. 

When complete I get 4 days worth of premium time plus a medium Makarov crate.

Do the ships come wirh a port slot?

Ok, taking that the requirements are not that though. last time with this event it promoted that you play the game at different times a day since the tasks are set up that the first part of each 2 hour mission is way easier to accomplish. So wait for 3 fresh missions, do some battles and get 3x 40 points or so.

 

But the prizes.. Some premium days ( have 800 due to that very low% Satan crates) one more medium crate, 3 times 1m silver for the 3 ships, maybe additional portslots ( which I do not need since I have more free spaces then remaining ships in T5/T10 bracket.  Nice numbers of oil for the clan, some ( permanent) camo for irrelevant ships and 3 captains that will be sold immediately for captain xp.

 

Effort low, prizes low. But again I can use the silver ( those Santa ships need modules), some oil for the clan due to all those crates and you never know what that extra crate brings…

Well, I suppose it is nice that WG put on something when they don't have to do anything. So, thank you for that. It's the thought that counts.

 

However, I will not be partaking. Thank you, but no thank you. Snow giant tokens for some silly camouflage, Santa Claus commanders and a loot box that gives you more nonsense?

 

For heaven's sake, WG! What have you been smoking? Have you been secretly taken over by the Joker or the Mad Hatter? We really need a Dark Knight to ride to our rescue. Save our warship game, please, it has been taken over by lunatics!

Wow i would have never guessed we can get that worthless of a xmas event .... literally the best part of this xmas was the 75 steel of each T8-9 ship. 

 

The rewards here literally worth nothing.... probabaly i could get that 3M credit in 4-5 games in coal ships. The reward for playing T10 snowflakes was also pretty crap, an SC worth way more than the ticket you gave.

 

Hope next year you also remove the free steel and coal from the snowflakes too

The gripe I have with not just these uniquely themed commanders but ALL of these uniquely themed commanders I collect across the year is they come with, at best, 10 points. Now, a 10 pointer is actually pretty decent but when I already have a commander or two for each of my most played nations that are on 20 skill points, there's just no way in hell I'm going to go back and use a 10 pointer just because it has some visual difference and nothing else different. 

 

Am I a noob? Yes. But my noob suggestion would be to make any of these uniquely themed commanders have either a little boost to at least 1 skill or have at least 1 entirely different skill to a regular commander. At least that way I might get it and go "Oh, that looks interesting, I might grind that commander up for my [insert ship of choice]" instead of the current "Meh... bin"

Dang, its going to be difficult to keep up with all the special missions these days, especially with some being time constrained If I understand correctly and some not being properly tracked (christmas tree ornaments). The one thing I'm currently not short on is premium days, too bad it's for sale currently too :)

I don't understand the New Year perma camos...

 

1 normal tier 8 is 3000 but 1 New Year tier 8 is 4000 (same benefits)

 

Also if you buy 3 of them you pay 10500... What a "discount" !!

Common practice with all new events that lasts a patch.. Hammering in the info.. 

 

This is however not a bad event, play as normal , get som free crap, ignore the collection, it's Meh.

 

BUT.. They now sell T8 techtree in store, with an exp farming mission (7 days "only", but still...) and perma camo for T8 and T10  Russian heavy cruiser line. THAT is not good. You can now directly buy a Tech tree with 0 games... Don't think they've done that before. The bundle is crap but hey....

 

See a few people complain about the Guiseppe Verdi bundles.. It's a no brainer, if you want the ship, buy the 50% discounted bundle, contains a bunch of stuff, some useful some crap. 

 

The New year Camouflages are more expensive because they are custom, like any Kobayashi or Waterworld specials, halloween specials+++ (8-6k dubs for T10 ones), the Kobayashi ones are insane.. Best is the T7 Ashitaka with T10 stat camouflage (of course there are better, like the flint and black super camouflages, but those are for Clan/Ranked players)..
