These two are as different as you can possibly get.
Yes, Marceau is good in capable hands, tho pretty crap in the hands of an average player.

i can speak only for Max, and yes she's a strong pick for randoms, skip bombers are very strong as firestarters on bbs and they can work well even for hunt dds.

Her torps are quite ok, nothing special, i don't wanna be wrong but they are the same tbs of stock Richtofen, a bit squishy, but you have the heal so you can compensate a bit, better if you use them vs bbs because they are slow in water.

However in my opinion i think it's not a good pick for ranked because she is a carrier that relies a lot on dot with fires and flood and in ranked you need a lot of burst dmg, in this sense i prefer Hakuryu.

Marceau is one of the best credit grinders in co-op. You just rush in and kill everything before ur teammates on your flank even have a chance to get anything done. The DPM and Speed are insane and among the highest in the game. I always finish 1st place on the team with it by a large margin.

 

CV's are pretty pointless in Co-ops due to how fast games end. You won't have time to do much damage. 

 

Edit: It's a completely different story in randoms however. Marceau is very much a high-skill cap ship.

Immelmann...well I don't have her, but from the replays she looks more boring than other CVs...

Marceau is excellent and always fun to play.

In a DD knife fight the Marceau fears no one but Ragnar IMO.

 

Max Immelmann is a good CV and my favourite. If you like CVs, it's a great purchase.

 

As @WorthyOpponent Suggested, Marceau could easily be on the next list of ships to be removed making it an even more attractive proposition.

I mean...a Shima/Somers/Kagero can zone out a Marceau with torps and outspotting, but essentially no DD wants to take it on 1v1. Maybe the Ragnar, but that's it.

The speed and damage saturation even make it dangerous for those that try the smoke+hydro trap.
