20x certificates - 4x Megas - signals and cammos, then Yukon. Yay, a rare and valuable ship!

 

20x gifted megas - four tier 5/6 ships, in exact low-to-high order of shop value ("random", my arrse...), plus more sigs and cammos.

After getting the Arizona and De Grasse in the 12 TX certificate medium size lootboxes, I got gold as well with which I bought another 8 mediums and got me the Flandre. ^^

Counting value like that is misleading. You can get Lazo for free, and you can get Weimar and Ise with a 25% discount. Also, you can get 360 days of premium time for 12000 doubloons, so 180 days worth 6000. Also there is the personal value. Will you play these ships that much, or will you rather play your T9s and T10s, while grinding new lines? Port queens do not worth the money. Also, if you already had like 400+ days of premium time, then 180 additional days is kind of useless.

A reply to YabbaCoe that reading my initial post  accused me that i am calling the whole precess a casino that prakes the rules of Eu and he told me that i have 50% rate of success in my 4 first containers.

So to prove him wrong I bought today 8 Giga Containers and got: plus 5 mosaic cammos and 30 Red Dragon flags. As you can see (unless ships as gifts are not available anymore) there is no 50% and other rubish.

For example: When you complete battle exp you have the choice to select the last option with the small crater that says "it gives less rewards but it has bigger chanches to get a premium ship". Biggret chanches from what ? The other containers? If that is so in my 6 years if gamming and an average container ipen close 2.5 WHY I haven;t got any ship at all? When you accuse some one that is priviliged by having 50% rate of success better read other clients posts too before you embarace your self.

Just to set the context for all readers.

Yes, you had a 50% drop quota: 4 boxes, two ships. 

You did not prove him wrong with the additional acquistion; you just bought another set of crates. Nobody stated that you would have 50% forever.

 

Fun fact: Your two ships out of 10 Mega and 2 large boxes are within the stated probabilities (16% Mega, 9% Large).

8 (or 10) boxes is a very limited sample size. At grand scheme of things (many containers opened by many players), the percentages stated by WG seem to be correct.

 

Some guy opened first 14 and didn't get any ship so at 15 th, he got a ship by pitty factor.

 

He opened like 130 containers in total and had pitty (14 in a row without a ship) like 3 or 4 times.

 

So it is luck.

There seem to be very different ways of thinking about the game economy. Some people know that value is solely driven by willingness to pay. Other people take prices as given and confuse it with value. If one thinks like that, by default any lootbox will be worth its price, since you get a premium to compensate for the uncertainty of its content.

 

I got a Yukon from the free lootboxes. Is it worth the 32€ asking price? If that was true for all players, then everyone by definition would have a Yukon in port right now.

Maybe some day the ignorance of this community will have triggered me enough to start a guide to WoWs economics. Ofc I am too lazy and I know the people wouldn't read it, much less understand it. Makes me sad.

I think most stuff in WoWs is rediculously overpriced. 32 euros for Yukon? Hah, I fart in WeeGreedy's general direction

Sorry, total price is 502 euros. Value is something entirely different. As you cannot trade your ships, the value is entirely what you consider it. 

I would rather jump off a cliff than pay 502 euros for those ships. In fact I would not even pay close to 108 euros for them. 

WG is overpricing stuff to a rediculous extent.

with 42 tier X ships I chose 8 and 2 regular mega santa crates hoping for some luck that a ship would drop. . .
 

unfortunately i live in belgium and i can't buy santa crates unless someone gives them to me as a gift and I pay them back via paypal

To be fair I can't see the price in € only in my local currency DDK just used a online currency converter to calculate the cost in € and a 8 cent difference is spot on for me.

 

Value is what you personal make of it and is different for each individual. Like we say here in Denmark one man's trash another guy's gold
