Depends, objectively speaking Stalingrad I guess, but if you hate the stale, boring, BB like gameplay of Stalingrad (like me) than go for Austin.

Would have already bought Austin last time, but than Ragnar came around. So Austin for me this time.

The short answer: Stalingrad. 

 

The longer answer: Would you rather play Petropavlovsk or Worcester? Alaska or Atlanta? 

Stalingrad has been nerfed, but is still (in my opinion) really strong, and while I don't own Austin, I'd imagine it's quite situational. You'd need an island or other people to tank for you. My best advice is to go on YouTube and watch some gameplay of each ship, but I do think every skilled player should have a Stalingrad in their port ;)

Each coupon lasts for half a year, then you get a new one. If you don't spend them within that time, it will be replaced with a new one, and you've essentially lost a coupon.

Yes and it sounds like the coupon for Cyclops will renew in 6 days not expire in 6 days.

And with the new coupon the old one get replaced without compensation. Basically use the coupon you have now and get a new one in 6 days. Or not use it and get it replaced by a new one. But you will not end up with 2 coupons!

My coupon for STEEL/COAL has been used and renews in 6 days.( hence my post)

Sounds like a skill issue, to be fair. People seem to still do well in Austin and Stalingrad.

 

I still think Stalingrad is the better ship, if not easier to play.

Low fifties? He is a god compared to the average player! 

 

Although even for me, my Stalingrad has 15% higher winrate than my account.

I'm not belittling anyone. I'm just saying these ships' skill floors are probably way too high for him to enjoy them much. Stalin used to be so OP it defined the meta but ever since the Captain Skill rework, it just takes so much fire damage as to be rather challenging. Austin is basically an Atlanta with a heal at Tier X. It blows up when someone sneezes in its direction.

Of the current steel crop, Ragnar would probably be the best bet in that respect. Or one of the BBs - if he is able to cope with poor DD play on his team while using a BB himself.

You already have the Minotaur, Colbert and Harugumo, all of which play somewhat similarly to the Austin (great DPM, but fragile).

 

On the other hand, you don't have Kremlin or Petro.

 

Based on this, I'd go for Stalingrad for variety.
