Bravo WG (Satan container drop rates, CV spotting)

Your employer gets a lot of flak and for good reason on these forums.

 

That said, I wanted to give a shout out that I appreciate the small steps WG has taken to listen to the community. The obfuscation of drop rates was pretty much the number one thing I and many others found off-putting about this game/company, so this was a very good move. Some months ago, a lot of us were sceptical about WG's promises to "do better", and demanded actions not words.

 

These were actions. Thank you. I hope that WG will also in the future be sensitive to the issues that the community cares about. I don't think you will regret it.

They have already made that clear: ram them down our throats in randoms.

They are making small steps in the right direction, but the leopard will not change its spots.

2+ years of development will not be revoked and removed as far as I can see. I can only hope they are not allowed in randoms eventually. Unfortunately it's were they are most likely to be added.

Perhaps if those who hate Subs are playing Arms race and not Randoms by greater number WG cannot dispute numbers...

 

Must admit I prefer arms race over random whilst Subs are around.

Whilst small steps in the right direction are most welcome indeed sat there in the back of my mind I have the image of all the WG Raised Fingers which have been prevalent these last few years and the owners of those fingers are still at the helm and in the shadows, I'll reserve judgment on the Russian Care Bears for now. Only time will tell

Releasing the droprates in a blog: nice. Next step: droprates in the shop with the products.

Blog piece on internal testing of something that should have been adressed 3 years ago: hopeful. But no points until the feature is in development and tested on the live server.

I wonder what will they do with the "Super-ships". Will they just make them "dissapear" or what. I do not see them in Randoms or anything. What do you think?

I think they released the drop rates in the shop for black friday containers. I would expect them to do the same with Satan crates.

Thanks. That's a start, what we really need is the cheeky 'shortlist' chances per ship tier, as tier apparantly matters and the 12 % is a cumulative chance on a ship no matter the tier.

Got you covered fam (I also know several friends of mine got JBs without, e.g., having Sims or Scharn - so I have no reason to believe this is not accurate).

 

It really seems that WG has mended its ways for now, at least in this specific case. The information presented about the odds is really very clear and very comprehensive, and I cannot find any fault in it.

 

(please note: this is specific to black friday containers; for santa containers they do have a tier system, and they have openly published it)

What I mean is displaying the actual drop chance percentage per subgroup, as they mention there are subgroups, but didn't display the subgroup chances here as far as I can see? The article on the Xmas crates does mention 0.1 to 1 % chances on a tier X in various normal big and mega crates. These sub groups should to be on display in the shop as well.

 

Right now the 12% is making it seem as if people have a 12% chance on a tier 7 or a tier 10 equally, which is not true as far as I'm currently aware.

The subgroup chances are literally highlighted in the quoted picture. Every ship within the subgroup has the same chance of dropping.

Yeah, apparently the crates don't work the same. Black ships had no tier/differentiation, but Satan crates do. So there is a kind of "soft" shortlist, but at the same time you have a chance of drawing from outside the shortlist (1% chance of rare ship in mega crates, e.g.,).

It’s not about releasing drip rates only. They also have been more informative with the blogs, Q&As, etc. What I think is,  some serious decisions are taken by the upper management to make some changes in the right direction and we have been witnessing this slowly. If they also start taking community suggestions into consideration (but for real) and unite with the community instead of ignoring them (as happened in the past), we will be seeing a very different (much better) WG compared to WG of last a couple of years.

They already did consider/take some of them.
