I've just gone AFK from a T10 game with 2 subs and a CV.

Something I've never done before. After 4 years, thousands of hours and lots of money spent I'm so close to uninstalling.

 

Will it get better? i.e. will we ever be able to have games where we can just have surface ships again?

Anyone who intentionally goes AFK is 'SCUM'.

Whilst I never agree with going AFK deliberately I can sympathise somewhat with the frustration. Either play very low tiers to avoid being a guinea pig in the submarine project and fingers crossed with tier 4 CVs, play operations or just give up on this game entirely. 
 

Im playing operations just until I get HMS Repulse ( weird target I set myself I know ) then I’m out the door.

I've never seen a game with more than 3 subs or CVs combined, so indeed most ships are "surface combatants".

Frankly, I think subs and DDs should count towards the same MM cap, i.e. a match shouldn't have more than, say, four subs OR DDs.

 

Frankly, I also think going afk because you don't like the MM is pathetic: subs have been nerfed and most of them are sailed by noobs anyway, and CVs have been in the game since forever.

If you don't like your odds, just play in a different gamemode, or don't play. AFKing on purpose is just inconsiderate.

Eh, i just set autopilot to the middle of the map and go make a coffee if A), multiple CV's per team or B), CV and Multiple Subs. if I'm in a cruiser that is. Cruisers are getting completely fucked by subs and CV shitting on them at the same time, its not worth it. Go, die, play another game. Why do you think there are so many DD's and so few Cruisers? (I am sure someone here will go through some mental gymnastics to come up with an answer totally not connected to it just to try and feel special)

In that situation I try to do some damage and report the griefers if I have reports left then move on

Play late at night if you can, usually after 1am-2am there is no subs or cv, just surface ships.

You dont play much thesedays do you? Have you seen the 11 other people, most of them struggle to think and breathe at the same time.

 

Joking (well, kinda not joking) aside, everyone is selfish, those who claim they are not are lying, its only natural to value oneself over others, it's a lobby shooter not an MMORPG where you need to build relationships etc. I can afford to be selfish here and given everyone else is, whats the issue? 

 

TL;DR - IDGAF about other team members, my time to me is more valuable to me, the concerns of 11 other strangers do not really matter to me much at all.

This is pretty close to my view; the closest I get is - if there are submarines - that I play as well as I can ignoring the submarines entirely, and when one gets near charge it - I'll either remove one griefer from the game, or get sunk myself in which case - great - I can get on and do something else instead.

 

I have found myself reporting submarine players in Randoms lately on general principles, although that's a bit pathetic...

No point on reporting, the Karma system got its balls cut off when they released the CV rework. Its as much use as tits on a bull, or as useful as AA in WoWs which pretty much amount to the same thing. Pointless waste of time. but then if anything can sum up WeeGee's latest little set of projects, those four words would be pretty high on the list.

I'd agree that it's terrible behaviour - as I say I've never done it before. I'm just done, I think.

 

A shame as I loved the game.

Thanks for reminding me I'm only a 51% player, without you I'd never figure out what to do. 

 

Now i know I'm only a lowly player below the godlike elite player you are, but I have to call BS on the whole 5/11 bit, I routinely run WoWs monitor (comes in handy, who to focus etc) I often see what I am playing with, hence I used the qualifier 'most' not all. Sorry to take up your time Mr elite, shouldn't you go back to seal clubbing in your Hosho?
