[EZKIL] Sir_Sinksalot Players 1,510 posts 8,248 battles Report post #1 Posted November 12, 2021 Hi guys, I've noticed that when I occasionally take a look at some players stats post battle, at times their stats are hidden. 1. How do we hide our stats? Somewhere in settings? I can't find such an option tbh. 2. What side-effects, if any, come from hiding our stats? In other words, are our insignia's and emblems no longer shown, does our winrate based placement within the MM system stop being considered etc? 3. What are the positive aspects of hiding our stats?

Yeah its somewhere in the Profile. Positive sideeffect may be, that nobody sees if you have bad stats. Negative, all assume that you suck anyway when you hide your stats. So its even worse than having bad stats. And i dont think that you have to hide them. Especiallly it makes others see that you are not bad and still improving. What makes alot ppl less salty. 8 3

Oh there are diverse reasons for hiding the stats and as long as MMM is a thing mine will be hidden most of the time

It will slightly change the abuse you get in chat from other players who are supposedly on your team. Instead of " you suck mr 40%wr go play tetris" you get "you suck mr hidden stats go play tetris" 2

Saved vid at players skill and winrate factoring comments made by devs, just press play. I think they mean only for ship balancing sadly and I'm possibly wrong about it also being implemented in MM. He says "They now divide players based on their winrate skill" so... kinda figured that meant battle construction, aka, MM

[0KILL] AkerJack Players 444 posts Report post #16 Posted November 12, 2021 On the web portal on the statistic page there is the option to hide your public stats. Thanks At least one way is to go to your profile via the game website, upper right corner, click your name and choose 'World of Warships'. You get a webpage with the option to set it hidden.

If it's overall WR, rather than specific data, I should be nicely camouflaged against whatever the WOWS equivalent of XVM sniping is... I recall a vaguely entertaining incident on the NA server: I'd just added an Asashio to my account, and on my first (?) Random in the thing, I got someone on my side warning everyone on the team that I was hopeless as I was a newbie in a brand-new premium, with no idea how to play it. Whilst I'm nowhere near good in her, it slightly amused me to come top in the subsequent victory (Asashio is my most played ship on EU). TL;DR - take MMM results with a pinch of salt, Americans!

You can set it up to show overall WR, ship WR, team WR, solo WR. It's very flexible.

[D-P-B] The_Norwood [D-P-B] Players 187 posts 20,023 battles Report post #24 Posted November 12, 2021 Hiding stats theoretically means you get less focussed, especially by CVs, if you have good stats. Of course, everyone assumes that if you hide your stats you must have bad stats, so you get reported more because there are a lot of people out there who aren't smart enough to come to more than one conclusion. Whether or not you have good or bad stats, if you hide them, some players will focus on your hidden stats and try and shame you for it.
[EZKIL] Sir_Sinksalot Players 1,510 posts 8,248 battles Report post #25 Posted November 12, 2021 So let me get this correct. If you have a high winrate you're a sad tryharding no lifer wallet warrior that lives in their Moms basement... and possibly a cheater. If you have a low winrate you're a total scrub loser and please uninstall, just don't say anything because you're useless. If you have an "average" winrate you're still kind of a loser too because average, so also shut up. So there's no pleasing anyone in this game? Everyone tends to get insulted for being bad or good or average? 7
