i couldnt agree more! please make it a permanent game type.

but also better improve the balance of matchmaking. Do not let a division against random team, do not let a CV team against Destroyer team.

Make sure it is mirrored game please.

not really, i find it the game type of most fun. if your teamates are brainless, just try to do your own job and get as many damage as possible, and then start the next game. you cannot have brainless mates all the time right? and, Brainless players are in all game types.

This, i usually just play a dozen matchess and move on as it gets repetitive and boring fast, this time I ground it out for the coal a as my stock is down but boy was it an annoying Experience to play through…

Like convoy and other modes Brawl is fast, fun, fantastic and in equal measure very frustrating.

 

Too much of good thing is not necessarily good and it becomes boring and repetitive quickly.

 

Like Convoy, Brawl could do with some major tweaks; ban cvs and Russian radar ships, but keep the shorter range US radar and hydro ships.  Widen the map choice, and move the circles further apart.   
 

I’m sick of seeing Hindi, Shimi, GK, Moskva, Stalingrad and Petro.    I’m sick of waiting over 2 mins to play a game in a cruiser or BB when it takes 10 seconds for a DD and yet supposedly there are over a 100 ships in the queue ???.     
 

Btw ironic that this fair and balanced game should have THREE Russian ships that excel in this mode 🤭.

It also shows the real imbalance of some ships; seen many Hallands with their huge damage torps ?.  
 

Of course there are less DD players = stupid map selection and Radar !.  Put in the Ocean map and things will be more interesting.

 

Brawl has the same problem the whole game has ; idiots with zero map awareness, sheep following, no idea what angling is, and zero idea about tactics.

 

My fave map is two brothers but in brawl I hate the map, there are too few ships for the map (5 would be better).   Yesterday Brothers saw an FDR with high island cover, centre caps, ineffective AA, Perma spotting and constant attacks, oh how much fun that was, next brothers a green Kremlin that positioned himself out of play  leaving me in a DM to reset cap and duel with a GK and GL, and when Kremlin did actually manage to get one salvo off it was HE (@ 5km away !!!).  Next one DM goes down the middle another Kremlin follows me around an island (instead of supporting the DM), what happens DM gets nuked Krems living it up on an island cruise and I’m fighting an RPF equipped back door guard Stalingrad in a Gearing.    
 

I played very well initially and then funnily lost the will to try (repetitive mode and idiots),  I can understand DDs not performing (radar and confined area) , BBs being weary  (islands) and cruisers dominating especially those with torps but idiots are another thing, and WGs map selection another.  WG let us choose which maps and what ships to exclude/ban if you’re going to do brawls in future.

FDR in this mode is just silly. But the mode itself is a lot of fun!

It’s best in a cruiser like Hindi or Nevsky. Even mino work well. Tight quarters and torps!😀

So yes, cvs ruin it - as they always do.

So yes, cvs ruin it - as they always do. 

most fun are the mirrored ones, true. But i find that in the end, the skill of the carrier captain greatly matters. while a carrier is an asset in the scouting department, he is not an asset in ground sea control, and its damage it pitifull at best, as he doesnt get the time he needs to deal real damage

(FDR being the exception)

 

offcourse, this would only be an issue for the even weeks, as T5, 7, & 9 doesnt have carriers

i get the impression most people just take in what they have. just a small selection of players can choose from a wide variaty of T10 ships.

 

For me, the Des Moines is an absolute brawl beast. it can take on BB's with a bit of effort, and wipe out DD's and Cruisers without trouble.

 

Torps are as much a hinderance as an asset, as you must show broadside to drop them. at the ranges of the brawl, i cant miss your citadel. with 4.8 second reload, i can kill most cruisers in 10 seconds if they are stupid enough to try and torp. with my hydro, im able to avoid torps 8/10 times, and survive 90% of the times i do get hit (normaly 1 torp in the bow)

Care to name a tier and the most popular botes you’ll constantly see, e,g T9; Kita, Fletcher, Riga, FDG/ Pommern, T7 ?, Shiny, Fiji, Belfast, T6 ?.    Because there’s such a small selection of maps and only 3 ships each side it doesn’t matter what Tier you play within 2-3 days you’ll be bored stupid.   If WG switched it to T7 this very second how many shiny and Gnes would you see 🤭.
 

Brawl is a very brief respite from the car crash that is Randoms, why is it so many good players play co op, 2 years ago a co op team featured a lot of bots these days you hardly see a friendly bot, if Co ops had the same rewards (xp etc) as brawl then randoms would be the least played mode, until the idiots move over to co ops.

100% agree, I've more than once finnished last and killed all on other team, usually 2 kills. Very thrilling matches, Where u cannot camp, there is no time.

you still need to grind different ships and captains. i think you see alot more different ships.

 

Last 3v3 T8 brawl you saw all kind of T8 ships. it worth it, because a A hull T8 is not that much less than a B hull T8 ship, and there is no change of be uptiered, and having to deal with T10's in your A hull T8...

Really ?.    In convoys Tirpitz was popular, in brawls it’s hindy and Petro.   Randoms is a lot more diverse, for starters it’s usually two tiers worth of ships T8 & 10 compared to just T10 and usually the same half a dozen botes.     The cv availability doubles instantly how many are available at T10 ?. Don’t forget most T8 players are grinding T10 don’t need to.

Would love to see this mode made permanent, with variations in tier and number of ships. Submarines would have to be banned so they don't destroy the mode.

As refreshing as it would be to have new permanent game modes, WG will never do that, for a very simple reason. There are three ships per team, and combat is always close range, so it is very easy for a good player to single handedly erase the entire enemy team regardless the class. XP bonus for killing a full HP ship is huge, that's why if you sink a full HP DD you will get tons of XP despite the relatively low damage. So a good player who can devastate two, maybe even all three enemies will get a truckload of XP. Toss in additional bonuses for capping and voila, we have the perfect grinding gamemode. Fast matches with high XP gain. That's why WG will never make brawls permanent, neither they will extend brawls to every tier. It will take players away from random, where they want the vast majority of the playerbase to be corralled. We had operations heavily nerfed and ranked sprints removed for this very reason.

I agree with you but WG's thinking is the more you enjoy it the more likely they will get rid of it.

Yes. We screwed up. We all should have embraced subs and played them incessantly. Then they would have withdrawn them right away. :(

I'd be very happy to see Brawls made permanent; this goes double if they were odd-tier only - it seems that all the existing 'proper' game modes are getting submarines (and already have CVs), and it would be nice to have somewhere to escape them, even if for only a while.
