This is progress -- every change a move in the right direction -- not enough, but its a start. Kudos to the devs for listening and implementing changes, even if it did take much, much too long.

They even nerfed a Russian BB and the Brokengrad.

X Stalingrad:

  • Main Battery Reload Time increased from 20 to 21 s.

X Petropavlovsk:

Yeah...this will surely make a difference. If anything it just shows how inept wg is.

Brokengrad

I'd say stalin is a middle of the pack cruiser after the radar-, reload-, and fireduration-nerfs but okay.

It is...It's been fairly balanced for a long time now, but people still like peddling flamu quotes and such.

As much as it pains me to see Balansgrad and Petrodreamlovsk nerfed (as I own and play said ships), this is a step in the right direction. One thing I do find a bit annoying is the cheese grater approach where they nerf/buff in such small increments. It does make sense, but I would like to see a roadmap for what they consider the desirable end state of the ship to be, in order to assess how attached I should be to the ship in question.

Funny, just yesterday I played with the thought about a topic about how we ( as players) would like to see  Zao buffed. My idea was, WG might just buff it with a irrelevant 3k Hp buff.  Seems even that was too much, it’s only 2K…

Nice to see Monarch buffed again. Although range was a limiting factor, it was more the lack of hits/ accuracy  that made me hate the ship. And accuracy will be worst at the new max range.

Nice Marco Polo buff, now repeat that with the ITA BB tech tree ships T8 and higher and Roma / AL Littorio

I dont think anyone had complained about the Z-44, it's hardly as popular as those other ships, so it was good that they took action on the detect.

It's weak but doable now, and I play it because its a challenge. Now it might be real fun.

It has some pretty severe limitations now.

Still it’s brought by Moskva back into relevance!

Plus playing Stalingrad "against" Subs is a hell of its own. If/when they stay that will be a further nerf to supercruisers in general and Stalin in particular due to its preference for static play, bad concealment, and terrible maneuvrability.

Wow, so innovative from WG, they probably took a deep look into this. I mean they needed several patches for this so I guess this is product of lot and lot of thinking and testing.

Zao - 2k more HP? Wow it is totally fixed now I guess we can expect to see lots of them in competitive games now, I mean will there be better ship than 42k HP Zao to choose? Who knows maybe WG overdone it a little, maybe 1k would be just enough

Petro - Finally! For such a long time everybody complained about Petro's crazy DPM, no other issue at all, and it will loose 0.5sec on reload? Get out off here WG, this is absolutely genius, I don't think anyone would though of the better approach to balance this ship. That is why you are game developers and we are just players. That is why it took several months for this. Absolutely genius. I can't wait for next T10 competitive tournament and comeback of Petro as now it is finally balanced. I guess Zao will now take its place as permanently banned ship in KotS.

YY - so YY now have better reload then it had when it was hit by nerf hammer first time. So it took two year and four buffs on torpedo reload to get beck to even better reload than it had when it was introduced? Amazing stuff WG, absolutely amazing.

To be fair, Petro's gun reload got nerfed before a couple of times. IDK what the total reload nerf is now.

They're doing these nerfs bit by bit.

I was rather happy to see the Z-44 buff; I haven't done the maths, but this should give it, what, 5.8-5.9 km surface detection with full concealment build?

That'll make her quite a bit more interesting to play, I suspect.

Actually no, reload is so far nerfed only one time, from 13sec to 13.5sc, this is just second nerf to reload. So total nerf so far is 1s.

What they are doing is stats balancing. They nerf concealment a little, check stats, nerf reload a little, check stats .... I don't know, maybe it is just me, but main issue with Petro is not reload but how stupidly that ship is tanky and how low it sits in the water. But only WG is doing is chip some soft stats here and there hopping that will fix issues and by fixing issues I meant have acceptable stats. Problem with just stats balancing is that you can end up with unfun ship even tho stats saying that it is good, like Khaba for example.  So in the end nothing fundamentally changes with the ship. For next KotS it would probably still be only cruiser perma banned and obvious choice in any CW season where CV is present. Maybe the next season would be somewhat different just because there is no CV and ships like DM/Salem could be better choice but I would not be surprised if majority of teams still field at least one despite huuuuuuge .5s reload nerf.

Most of these changes mean absolutely nothing at all lol.

typical WG: they change parameters that have nothing to do with why the ship is so bad or good in the fist place...

They're still nerfing steel ships... :cap_wander:

That's looking as we don't need to collect any more steel... :Smile-angry:

A Polo-Buff? :cap_wander:

Never thought I´d see the day. Maybe now its on par with some T8 BBs.

Zao Buff is pretty lackluster... are these 2k HP in any form significant when getting devstriked anyways?

IDK why all the Balansgrad-Nerfs? This ship was incredible strong a few years ago... nowadays Im happy to see a Grad, at least I know that I can deal with it in most cases.

I doubt that the YY-Buff is enough to bring it back... especially bcs it can be still outgunned by so many DDs.

The Petro-Nerf doesnt even touch the real problem with that ship: Its insane tankiness. If the REALLY wanted to change smth on Petro-christ, they should have given it super-cruiser DCP.

If I have to guess, I would say that first changes will be added to the game for the second PTS session during this patch and after 10.10 goes live, WG will test different reload for Novorossyisk and than compare results for final decision.
