Cool! But the incentive of buying a T6 premium cruiser is... It's Spanish?

Perhaps if WG add spanish voice lines.

Spanish speach is already in game, the Nuevo de Julio captain speaks Spanish.  On a side note I'm more confused at the fact that none of theSwedish captains speak Swedish.

That is Espanol, not Castellano. For Spanish ships we need a Castilian voice over. Although given how Swedish voice over has yet to arrive I am not sure if that will happen in the short run.

I was wondering about the Argentinian Spanish and how it compares to the modern Spanish as spoken in Spain.

When I was in Montreal in the early 1990s for the F1 race I met a guy from Paris (France) who said the locals from Quebec sounded like yokels!

On reddit I remember that one user said that Nueve capitain speaks European Spanish not Argentinian. I bet Brasilian Portugal could have many additions from African Languages and other languages.

My better half speaks French, and has told me this is quite a widespread view...

As to the OP, if I were feeling mischievous, I might lament the fact the new ship isn't called Castor...

Parisians think everyone not from Paris has straw coming out of their ears. But Canadian French is an interesting little branch line of a language, for sure!

Presumably, WG are worried about copyright infringement:

On a more serious note. Yes, it's kind of a strange omission....

I am glad to have a Spanish line and with Canarias cruiser, a historical ship named after the islands where I am from.

About Spanish language, if you select Spanish in the voice settings you will get Venezuelan accent which we all understand but it is really different from Argentinian, Mexican or Spanish accents. Even within those countries there are different accents, and it is odd to hear a Venezuelan accent in a Spanish or Argentinian ship, anyway, I guess it is impossible to satisfy all the possible solutions.

They have influence of the Italian inmigration in the late XIX century and in early XX century, most  of all in the sound and rithm of the accent, also small but very peculiar form in Argentinian accent is they do not use the same pronoun for the second person in singular and the conjugation of the verbs for that pronoun is different. In common Spanish the pronoun is "tu" and in Argentinian is "vos", an old respectful form similar to "vous" in French, but now used without any sign of more respectful treatment than "tu". To show respect to a person the treatment is "usted", that comes from old expression "vuestra merced" translated "your grace" or " your mercy" that was used in a written brief form "vsted" and now "usted" written and spoken, which is very used nowadays.

We see all accents with respect. You may have personal tastes about them, you may like some more than others. In some countries they use very cult words that are not used in Spain anymore. And several Nobel prices of literature come from those countries.

Bets are open about what their "specials" will be:

I'd say: they get something better ASW/Sub detection

Same here. Do you imagine an admiral pack with the Canary Islands flag?
