Incredibly how they introduce subs, then do a fix and change the complete meta in the game.

AMAZING WG.....

Are you not even playing your own game???

ASW planes cannot spot

How can a plane not spot if it flies over you?

LOL

By the same reason bombers can't spot 100m long ships at 2,6 km and to prevent what you said in OP :cap_like:

ASW planes are not spotting ships, subs or planes.

Well, let's say there is no communication set between ship and those bombers after they started their attack. Those bombers are designed only to arrive to designated place, drop the bombs and fly away.

But they can still trigger AA fire from the enemy ships and therefore reveal their presence there (due to the rendering of the AA fire) although the firing ships remain unspotted. This should be adressed by wg. Either confirmed as an intended feature or fixed as a bug.

And it is probably NOT intended feature - as per the KOTS rules (which is now official WG tournament) the abuse of these planes for this purpose is forbidden. So it has to be a bug, right?

If you do not like this behaviour, you can turn off small particles so that you wont see it (i believe).

If you do not like giving away your own position, simply keep AA off if required.

They can't spot, but you can see the AA tracers shooting at them, so you can know if there is an enemy ship near the air strike ...

If you ask yourself why on Ranked in battle without sub ASW was working - in question is answer :cap_yes: Is it bug - haven't clue; can spot - yes, sometimes coud, even dd in smoke. How it works - also haven't clue.

EDIT: Don't know can it spot from today and new patch.

Did you play Dutch cruisers mate? It's the same thing, they don't spot anything. Airstrikes and ASW planes have same mechanics - they just drop different armament.

Okay, now you're just questioning video game logic.

Dutch coudn't in previous patch - agree. Japanese BB - yes, they could sometimes, not sure for British and French (write about Ranked in previous patch and in random in previous patch).

It is definitely not a bug, we don't intend to have those planes having spotting abilities.

So you have pilot that can drop bombs on a periscope but can't see a Yamato....

What's next, Frodo comes in with a dragon and burns DDs?

You have misunderstood the question, I had not asked about spotting abilities but about triggering visible aa fire from invisible ships, thererefore indirectly disclosing their location.

The just dodge answer to this one is everybody who values stealth should by default have their AA turned off to counter ASW bomber abuse? :cap_yes:

The last few matches I had people spammed ASW planes to trigger AA and spot where people are going.

I mean the problem is easily avoided if one turns off AA when there is no CV or even if there is a CV and they are not targetting you.

However too many players don't do it or don't know about it, so you have a majority of decent players who abuse these planes to spot where people are going.

Pretty sure that this is not the intended use of these planes
