Khaba will be replaced by Delny, becoz of a more "logical" progression of tashkent

She will follow the route of Moskva and will retain her UU and camo, and will become coal but will remain in the ports of her owners

So what do you feel like about this?

Personally its not a bad idea, but they could have just adjusted the Khaba as is. Oh well

i hate that insteadof buffing Khaba, they replace it with this and then they put Khaba for coal, which noone will buy, because now they have a better DD in the tech tree

I'm still not sure what the point of the Khaba is: range, rudder and concealment are all crap, who would want her for coal? :Smile_unsure:

In terms of the ships change, it doesn't make much difference to me beyond giving me an extra SC every Xmas and anniversary. I don't find Khaba to be any fun in the current meta, but there is a good chance I'm doing it wrong.

What I do find interesting is this:

image.thumb.png.3f5cd63b1735c2c3d7932a7baf71a57c.png

Surprising too: it looks like they're not making the same PR Richard move as they did with Moskva, and - even more surprisingly - seem to be fixing said Richard move for all the Moskva owners that were impacted...

Looking at the characteristics of the Delny I see it suffers from the short range syndrome Khaba has.

Spoiler

Delny - Main Battery Firing Range - 11.5 km

Tashkent - Main Battery Firing Range - 12.7 km

Khaba -  Main Battery Firing Range - 11.2 km

1.2 km less range than the T9. That won't be fun, just like Khaba.

- Worse than Khaba as a destroyer leader/ultralight cruiser (145k HE DPM with slot 6 reload mod vs Khaba 207k and Grozovoi 175k), mediocre range (with AFT Delny 13.8km, Khaba 13.5km, Grozovoi 14.8km) and no option for smoke. Only beats the other two in HP, speed and maneuverability by insignificant amounts;

- Worse than Grozovoi as a standard destroyer with overall inferior torpedoes, worse concealment (Delny 6.7km max vs Groz 6km) and less utility because of no smoke or DFAA.

It's best feature appears to be 2 free Supercontainers per year from Anniversary and Snowflake events. Disappointing, considering R-10 spent at least 1.5 years in development.

It'll have better concealment than Tashkent and better torps. Which is... Weird. I thought it'll have stock Grozo torps that have 8km. It can easily stealth torp with 10km. And because her rudder is ok so people will take concealment upgrade at slot 5. The question is - what will be with the range upgrade at slot 6? Is it going to be also removed like in Khaba?

With case of Moskva and Delny permacamo I sense desperate PR try to fix previous moves a'la Little Richard. Nice and good change but this should be standard not one example or exception.

Delny - I'm ok as free TX freemium is always nice and welcome but tbh it's one of most neutral changes to me. I have Khaba for 2 co-op battles per year and thats all.

Instinctively, I tend to agree: my default position these days is always to assume the very worst of WG. On the other hand, it does take an almost uniquely special kind of stupid to not realise the damage they've been doing to their reputation and goodwill; are even WG *that* stupid? It could - albeit a remote possibility - be an early sign of at least a slight change in direction...?

Probably not, but still...

Khaba is an insande dodge tank. Getting 3 millionplus  potential damage is quite easy with her. I like her for her trolling potential :cap_haloween:

How is she a better dodge-tank than the Tashkent, which has better rudder and better concealment, in case she needs to go undetected?

I don't skill concealment with Khaba and i never said it is better than Tashkent (a ship i didn't play in ages), please show me where i said that.

Well that settles that internal debate about getting the Rumble camo at least.

Either case, time to get to work getting the Kebab in time for the change, even if it'd cost me FXP it's not like I have anything better to do with it currently. :P

Remember that you can just have the ship upgraded and not buy it. It will still be credited to you.

So for those who already own khaba, they can just sell it for some free credits and still get the ship back for free once the update hits.

not better but

Amazing speed, double rudder build, and 50mm armor plate does make its quite tanky for a DD.

The amazing speed and rudder for avoiding shells, and the shells you can't avoid can either be shattered by that 50mm plating or bounced off it. Unless ofc its a German cruiser, British heavy cruiser, and super cruisers (not counting BBs firing HE)

Oh my,  I hope WG doesn't change this.  :cap_wander_2: This tip is really smart and feels good when we exploit some corners :cap_like:

About Khaba, playing co-ops, I found her fun and powerful . It is really different to Tasken, and more difficult to play. It feels as small cruiser without a citadel. I am wondering to get the Transformer camo for her and continue playing it in co-ops. In mission looking for potential damage is fine.

1) I said the Khaba is crappy

2) you said she's great at something

3) I said she's still worse at that something than the T9 (a double rudder Khaba has slower rudder than a rudder+concealment Tashkent), so to go back to my question: why would anyone spend 240k coal on her?

Even with double rudder your rudder is awful.

Even with AFT you range is awful.

As you take both anyway to make the ship tolerable, you're going to have crap concealment, so your enemies will be less likely to be DDs and cruisers, against whom the 50 mm plating does something, and more likely to be BBs or CVs, against whom it does nothing.

I just don't see how she can have any attractiveness for coal unless she's given a buff, that's all.

Ok, positive move, compensating previous Moskwa permanent camo owners. Whether you value A. Nevsky ( and thus the need of perm camo) as much as on the previous silver line Moskwa remains the question, but still better then nothing.

For me personally I will focus on unlocking Khabarovsk now. With the recent release of new and future coal ships plus all the current coal ships I still lack I don’t want another T10 coal ship added on my to do list. Still need 30k xp on Kiev to unlock the T9 but will make it on time even if I have to redirect FXP from RB to this new “rush the T10 sov dd” project.

edit: indirectly would be the cheapest FXP ship currently available. A T10 for around 800k FXP if you start from T1. Plus the added bonus that you unlock up to the T9.

Ah this is easy to explain on why they did this.

Nobody trusted WeeGee anymore not to take away their paid for perma camo's and so they stopped buying them hurting WeeGee's bottom line.

Do i trust them now ? hell no.
