I played now some battles with the Dante Alighieri and the Conte di Cavour and except their look and existence i dont like anything about them, do you like them, how do you play them?

Well I like the actual / historical ships and start to like Cavour.

Currently at Andrea Doria and at the beginning I disliked the play style but statt to like her now

I strongly dislike the play style and how GW decided to balance the line. It's very underwhelming and uninspired.

But that's what you get with a long reload on inaccurate guns.

I like the look and the playstyle (fast ships from Tier 6 with decent armor)

The accuracy is not very good even in close Combat but if you get the Guns to behave or if WG changes the Accuracy these Ships can be very fun.

Not the best Line at the Moment but it has a lot of Potential and playing them is not as painfull as trying to reposition with a Vermont

I like the Premium ones. I don't like the silver ones. The silver ones combine all the worst features of the French and British battleships - guns which are unreliable, armour which won't keep out the same calibre of shell the ship fires -  and adds a whole new level of wonkiness with SAP.

Yes, I like them very much. Strong especially at mid-range and below, and access to smoke from 8+ adds a whole other layer of survivability, almost a get out of jail free card - or a tool to use when pushing.

What else... SAP is bonkers. They have very good armour schemes, fair but not the best concealment and Colombo has 360 degree turrets on the rear.

I find them very enjoyable.

From my experience

Pros:
-Amazing concealment (11,7 km with conceal build).
-45mm deck armor around the SS, which helps agaisnt pesky 152 HE (I think)
-hilarious belt armor comparable to Vladivostok
-Fantastic gun handling and shell flight
-The ship itself is quite agile
-good firing angles face on
-Strong protection agaisnt metal fishes
-Amazing pen
-She looks absolutely beautiful

Cons
-Amazing pen. Get used to overpens or alternatively, practice shooting cruisers that give a bit of angle
-HE shells are crap
-Very weak AA with poor range
-The shell spread at times will make you pinch your fingers together like Italians do
-She tends to eat a lot of damage when trying to fire all three turrets while kiting away
-No SAP or smoke like her sister ship Vittorio Veneto
-Her secondary suite is worthless, even more so than her AA

I like her. I hated playing her at first but if anything at all she is extremely comfortable and relaxing to play. Like that oldschool car you drive in on sunny days through the local countryside

I will say this much for them: At least they're not 23 knotters that reload in 40 seconds like that OTHER line released just before them..

Vastly superior to Vittorio Veneto, better concealment (11,7km IIRC), better accuracy, better reload... and to me Roma felt a lot more resilient than VV.

I got the tier 7 from the early access missions or whatever kind of scheme they had at the time. It's not fun. The armour is alright, but it catches fire whenever someone fires HE and the guns are pretty much as reliable as getting a ship from supercontainers is. Apparently the tier 10 is alright, but I have no interest in going through god knows how many battles of pain to get there. I'm not much of a BB player to begin with, but I'm really not going to spend my time with the Italian shotguns.

Not really keen on BBs in general (they give you cooties - scientific fact), although I do play them in PvE quite a lot. I gave the T7 Italian a run-out in Narai the other week, and she was even worse than I remembered - ghastly thing to play! Struggles to hit the site of a barn from the inside, and you die of old age waiting for the thing to reload. Ghastly!

It's a pity really: given the historical aspects, I was hoping - pre-release - that they wouldn't suck. Oh well, if you play WG titles it helps to get used to crushing disappointment I suppose...

(Roma is more fun, even if she looks like a rugby team or similar got horribly drunk and left an enormous beer can on the roof...)

The fire resistance coefficient, at a given tier, is the same for all fully upgraded BBs (or all fully upgraded BBs), so that's probably just an anectodal feeling :fish_book:

I liked them up to the T7.

But the VV was such a turd, that I can't be arsed to really grind the T9 after her.

Yeah it probably is. I only played like 3 battles in the thing and it seemed to catch fire very easily. Every time I play against them I also just seem to set them on fire over and over again. I never looked at the actual data. Whenever I play something firespamming, I always favour Italian BB's, cause in my (probably heavily experience biased) experience, they just seem to catch fire every other volley.

Caracciolo : It's okay for the tier

Veneto : Worse Roma, but fine I suppose
Lepanto : Worse Alsace, but okay tankiness at least
Colombo : Worse Lepanto, worst TX battleship. Helpless against the various menaces of the tier with garbage AA, range, accuracy, reload, caliber... Worthless.

On SAP : you get these hits where you go wow! SAP! It did something! And then realize that every other battleship, including yours, can do that and more with AP.
