Still no NEW free XP ship - why WG? Why?

It seems like forever (hyperbole) since there was a new ship added for free XP. 

 

I am sure I am not alone in assiduously accumulating a mountain of Free XP in anticipation of another new ship. (Currently I am sat on 2.5 million).

 

Old ships have gone from availability, but no replacements are forthcoming. This is getting really frustrating, no??

I couldn't get the Nelson in time after the removal announcement, I wish they would put her back for freexp :Smile_sceptic:

Research Bureau should be an addition, NOT a replacement.  (unless I missed a crucial "announcement" somewhere along the way!!)

 

It's not as if there is a paucity of "new" ships being produced, dammit!!!!

You can also use to grind up your commander. Yes I know it's costly but a low pointer to make it decent won't be bankrupting.

I was also sitting on 2.5. million FreeXP. I’ve just invested some into a double reset giving me some 44k research points (I do the resets when there is X2 bonus that I stack). I will get the Siegfried in a month, when I get the missing 450 research points from the missions. As I reset the Japanese torp DD line, it costs me about 1.4 million freeXP, and some credits. Having a premium account, I’m not short on credits, so in tthe end, I get a T9 cruiser for 1.4 million freeXP. Somewhat inflated compared to 1 million for a freeXP ship, and you have to do all the hassle with the resets, but this seems to be the best way ro spend your freeXP in the current situation.

The equivalent of a completely free purchase once in a while seems to be coal, at least for me: with a coupon you just grab a ship and that's it. No credits needed etc.

The math is probably much worse than the OLD FreeXP ships but compared to the latest prices (2 million FXP for a Destroyer) this may be comparable.

I use FreeXP as part of the RB grind,  As it is the higher captains that I want to grind I FreeXP to T6 or so. When I come to EU DDs later next year I plan to skip to T8 except the last reset.

TX ship cost 2kk of FExp and TIX ship costs 1kk FExp. Average TX RB ship costs about 60k RP while average TIX RB ship costs about 44k RP. One double reset costs at least 676k FExp and gives 20k RP.

 

Starting with hypotetical case that you made some purchase ealier and you start from 0 RP ( example ) you need to spend more than 1,2kk of FExp for TIX ship :Smile_teethhappy: Each month you can earn 1,2k RP and double reset is every three months so in three months you can additionally get 3,6k RP Correct me please if I made wrong calculations.

 

I have strange feel that most people didn't reseted lines only during double reset which boosts their price even more In example for 40k RP you need to made at least two resets but FOMO can attack so I have strange feel that with exception of people who really resets their lines WG developed awsome milking machine. I have strange guess that RB will have took over role of other Resources and will recive most interesting and gimmicky ships, for Coal will be added "leftovers from desk" and for Steel will be added from time to time some interesting or competetive ships.

 

Interesting did Black and Somers can become RB ships? Black due to obvious reason seems to have awsome milking potential. Let me guess. Steel Legend: Black for 80k RP? :Smile_teethhappy: I bet it will be sold in thousands from first day :Smile_teethhappy:

 

From FExp ships I lack only Agir and Hayate while from RB I have Colbert, Paolo Emilio and Slava. I definitely could farm Vampire II but RB is system bad from start so I decided to do not support this system more and I would rather buy Agir ( seems to be one of last Large Cruisers which I didn't have ) or Hayate ( for flexx purposes ofc ) Wish me luck!

Actually, I don’t find the RB ships more interesting than the coal ships. Napoli and Carnot are much more appealling to me than Druid or Vamp II. Also, Pommern is more fun than Ohio. Marceau is also cool.

I should probably use different wording as unique and gimmicky fits much better. Paolo Emilio has definitely unique gameplay not similar to any other destroyer, Slava is rather not similar to any other BB ( I can be wrong ) I would say truth and I bought Colbert only because is one of "newest" ( in timeline of XX-th century ) ships in game.

 

From my observations Vampire II seems to be awsome cap contester. I agree that Coal has many interesting ships but I'm generally speaking pessimist ( or rather realist ) as RB must gives them more income than Coal ( which gives very indirect income ) Ohio I frequently saw on CB. I rarely see Druid so no opinion about her but destroyer with bow guns only and AP with no torpedoes is definitely unique.

I've only recently got mine, so I'm still working out her foibles (and haven't tried her on real people yet); my initial impression has her filed under 'interesting, rather than OP/necessary' - she appears to be similar to Friesland and Ragnar in that you need time to do damage, and you need the enemy to give you the time/opportunity to do so; the lack of torps making you vulnerable to just being rushed is common to all three.

You're not wrong. Just making sure you realize there's no limit on resets other than the double bonus resetting every two months. If you play like a caffeinated ferret or if you've got the freeXP, there's no limit of the amount of RP you can earn per month. You can even keep resetting the same line over and over as soon as you freeXP it to the top.

That's what I do, have reset the German cruiser line 4-5 times, have 19-21 pt captains for the T6 and above. That line is a blast to play in coop, and is still good in Randoms.

Actually no. I don't think most players hoard FXP anymore. RB ships are the next best thing to steel ships and it also acts as an FXP sink so that more players can pay for XP conversion.

Because they abandoned it in favor of RB. Increases the prices of the T9, you also need to spend like 25 mil credits per reset(unless you FXP the entire line) and double bonus is only once every 3 months so it requires large commitment. You can get 24k RP every 3 months with the bonus and monthly missions so basically close to almost 2 ships per year. For me it's a slow grind just like steel. Those who have all the lines are probably resetting more than one.

dont really understand the Research Bureau Mechanics. It seems to me like I am just losing a load of ships that I have had to grind through for ever - just to re-grind them again and lay out a whole load of credits to buy ships that I have bought before and only get half price back on.

 

If someone could explain the benefit it would be nice

The benefit is to be able to buy premium ships/unique upgrades.

If you use FXP to speed up you can avoid spending more credits than necessary. My last reset was 275k FXP until Akizuki then I re-grind Aki + Kita. I will collect the RP from the others in a future reset since it stacks.
