On stream EU was answer that they haven't FOR NOW in plans FXP ships... If this is true from Russian stream - it is dissappoint.

EDIT: I think I will start again hard collecting FXP for Azuma just in case that that ship will go away (have Agir and Nelson).

Free xp is so easy to farm I won't be surprised if we don't see another FXP ship ever again.

For me the matter was settled when they removed the 2M FXP Smaland and replaced her with non-FXP Ragnar.

I think Groningen will be the last FXP...

Could you confirm weather this news is correct or not?

And if true, What's the ETA for existing FXP ships going the way of the Dodo?

As menitoned here, currently there was no FreeXP announced, but maybe it will be some in future.

So I can't confirm arrival of next Free XP ship, neither I can completely deny that.

We understood that immediately... it was "writing on the wall"... so... the FreeXP is now really only meant to be used with "Research Bureau" for accelerated acquiring of "Research Points" and buying ships with them in the Armory... :Smile_sad:

I wish they would put something in to replace nelson at similar cost

When starting out in the game it was a reasonable but not easy target to get enough FXP for nelson.

I don't have an issue with the t10 rb ships, even if you fxp something like the Haru line all 3 months and only buy and collect the points when you stacked enough, the fxp costs are roughly the same and i don't worry about credits anymore.

for t9 imho the math is off, a t9 fxp ship is half the cost of a t10 yet Paolo is only 20% cheaper than a t10 DD like vampire2...

Just looked at the wiki and here are some rough calculations:

~700k fxp will take you from t5* all the way to tX (w.o. researching auxiliary modules, GFCS/engine/etc) on a random branch line.

Given that the RB-2x factor is available 4 times/year and the rewards are 20.400(?) RB-points then 3x re-research's will bring you well within the current price of RB-ships, and If you also just play your daily missions to some extend you're able to bag upwards of 1.200 RB-points/month.

So a thought experiment.

- From August-November you pay fxp to reset a line (2x)

- From November-February you pay fxp to reset a line (2x) and you play/grind one ship for the 1x RB-points on your own (also you'll get rewards/dockyard bonuses/_w_)

- Over the cause of these 6 months you complete 1x400 RB-points every other month and 2x400 RB-points on every other month.

Having now spent ~1.4m fxp and having played/grinded one(!) ship back to tX, this should add up just shy of ~55k RB-points and place you well within the option of getting a RB-point ship with an effort similar to grinding fxp on its own. Over the cause of ½ year of playtime.

Factor in inflation of the various currencies in the game imho this seems so/so fair. Think that Musi was available at the barging of just 750k fxp

Still a pity tho if they were to cancel fxp ships all along. Welp, only time will tell.....

*) Getting up to t5 is for me so "cheap" fxp-wise that I don't count them any longer, and almost all missions require t5+ ships to complete them, hence I calculate from t5.

If Free XP ships were to go.... (or no new Free XP ships were to emerge), I think for me personally it might be a positive as there are other uses for the Free XP that currently compete with it: For the record, I have two Free XP ships of the currently available left to go: Azuma and Groningen (as I did not trade in Friesland for her). And I am currently a little under 500k Free XP.

  • Use to Free XP your way through reset lines (Harugamo costs roughly 750k Free XP to go through).
  • Use Free XP to respec or upgrade captains.
  • Use Free XP to immediately upgrade the modules on your newly researched ship.

I'm not sure how I feel about this, not that this matters one iota!

Given that new free xp ships (that I'm interested in) have started coming in at 2 million free xp, I've largely ignored them. Until I entirely run out of lines to grind, I'll never have 2 million free xp free (I hate playing stock for one thing), so Hayate - the only one I don't have - is of merely academic interest.

RB ships - for better or worse - seem to be easier for me to achieve, although that may simply be because of my own failings rather than anything else.

I liked the old - less expensive - free xp ships as they were realistically attainable for an average farty (me); the new ones, not so much, so I won't - in practice - be upset if there aren't any more of them.

(Yes, I do have Smaland, but that's only because you used to be able to swap RP for free xp.)

Totally off topic. So please ignore for the most of you. This just gave me a flashback, to the first Game I really enjoyed on Playstation (before they had to name it PS2, PS3 ect.) Syphon Filter was King...... Sorry going away now.

But on topic. I think FXP ships have been nice to long time WOWS players who did not participate in a long row of CBs, to still obtain some special ships. So far I got Missouri, JB, Mushashi, Nelson(was it?), Hayate & the Dutch clone of Friesland.

Jean Bart was coal, not FXP, Nelson was FXP before being removed for "reasons".

The problem with RB for me is that it requires timing and taking a absurd amount of credits, not surprised they dropped FXP and are putting those ships in the RB for now, problem is RB doesnt allow then to sell those ships directly and FXP is a better way to get people to spend more money in XP conversion that RB is, a indication that RB been a failure considering how its being pushed to the point WG is willing to potentially lose money just to justify the RB continued existence.

Removing  fxp ships in favor of RB would be pure WG. The BS they often do, lazy development with little imagination. Don't expect any better.

Totally Agreed. If You play on a more or less daily basis over a longer period You have lots of credits and FXP available. Coal and Steel also gets You some ships from time to time.

That is not the way WG wants it ...

My personal plan is to simply reset both SU DD trees at once every three month, which will net me more than 60k every 6 months... if WG really goes for more RB ships in the future and stops releasing FXP ones I may end up skip some of those regrinds with FXP instead of just buying the modules...

It will not. You will get 20.2k (including 2x bonus) for one but just from 9k for the other as other branch is lacking T6 and T7 ships. So 59.2k in total. Lines like, IJN DDs, US CA/CLs and RN CA/CL would give you 60.4k for 6 months. I am not counting here clan bonuses or monthly missions for RP. Difference in not big, just 1.2k, so if you love SU DDs than you won't loose much. At least you will enjoyed re-grind.
