Seems like Gneisenau013 has been thrown under the bus. Although repeated pleas from Chobbitsu and LittleWhiteMouse that he hadn't done anything wrong.

His Wargamin-tags have been removed from the Profile.

EDIT: ist has been confirmed that he got fired.

Looks as if Stalin's ghost is stalking the halls of 'some dark tower' (in Cyprus, perchance?)

And people wonder why we dislike this company and how its run? And why we call them out and want better services, mechanics and no gambling for items in-game?

It's why you don't falter as these people will always try and look for an easy way out moral or not.

Nothing to see here, just WG doing WG things by killing the messenger instead of committing to actual meaningful changes

For those looking for confirmation: https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/240702-premium-ship-review-yukon/?do=findComment&comment=5566243

WG drama continues. This episode features big boss Evin trying to censor the Yukon debacle by shutting down the thread. All in the name of full transparancy and improved communications of course!

Such a shame. I remember Ev1n to be a rather nice guy. Pity...

Yup me too. I met him once when WG did their first 'after the fair beer fest' after Gamescom in a bar a few years ago and he seemed a nice guy.

But you can't ignore how he's been in the position to do something about all this crap for a while now, and nothing changed for the better....

I don't disagree, but I wonder how much autonomy/influence anyone outside Lord High (bad) Suit level in Russia actually has on WG's conduct/direction.

Personally, most of my ire is directed at the (apparently) unprincipled :etc_swear: at the highest levels who set the tone and direction of the company, rather than the foot-soldiers (as it were)...

So it seems Gneisenaus Boss in the World of Tanks team just resigned over how WG treated Gneisenau and how they wanted to use him as a scapegoat.

If that's even close to the truth of the situation, then the WOWS management are even more poisonous than I (we?) suspected, and that takes some doing...

It gets worse and worse every week. I fear what will happen next week.

I agree.

He has most likely zero influence on the direction the game's taking (although he was employed in Saint Petersburg for a while alongside Sub_Octavian).

But even in his new position (and previous position on EU), he is fully in charge of communications. At least on his own server. And we all know where those have been going lately....

Wow. Just wow.

First of all, good to see there are still people in WG who will do the right thing. But the amount of contempt WG has even for its employees just boggles the mind. I truly hope this will also be picked up by those news sites that covered WOWS earlier.... :Smile_izmena:

Who would have guessed that the "important message to the community" would become a series?

Because I feel a second version coming up soon...

Won't happen, that was all planned.

WG looked us in the eye, said they were sorry, promised to improve, dropped their pants and expelled a liquid mass of chunky diarrhea all over the table and floor. While still looking into our eyes.

The good people are all leaving or left.

Could you not say stuff like this? I easily visualise things, and I did not need this mental image :cap_haloween:

Don't think so. Writing an apology while pointing downward is all fine and dandy. Writing one pointing up, not very likely.

A week ago, LittleWhiteMouse had this to say over on NA:

I'm starting to think Gneisenau was fired because of his inability to cool the tempers.

I know Miss Mouse doesn't want the Rebel Leader role, but let's be honest, she kinda is. I just wish she would seek publicity. I can't imagine there would be gaming media that woudn't want to publish her Yukon story, including the current Gneisenau aftermath.

I suspect this is really about WG's internal politics, for the benefit of head office somebody needs to be seen to carry the can, a convenient low level scapegoat is much more palatable than the people who are really responsible for the mess.
