So Missouri gambling scheme has finally dropped, along with 2 week time gate campaign to get the ship available in the premium story.

At max you may have to get 41 bundles. that is like 61500 doubloons. But you also get 20k tokens which can be used to get 1x t8 ship, 1x t7 ship, 1x t6, 1x t5, 1x t2-4 ship. And still have 6k tokens left over.

if we look at the max value of those ships you get something like

14000 for the Graf zeppelin

10100 for the duke of york

7300 for the W. Virginia

5300 for the viribus

2800 for the ishizuchi

39500 total possible value.

Now that is max value from the random loot boxes. Most likely you will not get this value. And realistically you will probably get a value closer to 32k. 32k + 19k for the Missouri + camo = 50kish worth of value. This means WG thinks all the special signals and credits equates to 11k doubloons.

Now you could possibly get the Missouri in the first few bundles and if you still do the campaign you will probably earn enough to get both the t2-4 crate and the t5 crate. However after about 7 bundles the value you get plummets dratically and thus even this concept is nothing more then a bait to trap you and separate you from your money.

The gambling scheme for the Missouri is a trap. Do not fall for it.

They're rebadged Santa crates, really. And like Santa crates, I think the Premium Ship containers won't give you doubloons until you've got all the ships on the potential shortlist. So at least you won't get a Makarov (we've all got one) but take a look at your port before you think about spending on this. If the Premium Ship containers are meant to be consolation prizes, they could be very bad ones.

The thing to remember about this is that the shop price of the Missouri is £54, or the equivalent in doubloons. If you want the ship, play the campaign, save up, buy it outright. Don't spend more, not even half the ship's value on this gambling scheme.

there is thing that, it typed maximum price for ships right? you may not get them tho soo. that number may go more than 11k.

soo yes by default you lose unless you lucky and get Missouri early

I accounted for this. Instead of based on 39 I based it on 32 as t8 has one 8k and a few 10ks. The other tiers also have similar. 32 felt like a good middle ground but it could be lower then 30k.

Out of curiosity, I was having a sniff around what you can get for the tokens; naturally, WG have very deliberately made the relationship between various currencies non-exact, to make doing quick maths to estimate relative values much harder (I'm too lazy to do a proper spreadsheet).

I was slightly amused (in a bleak sort of way) to see this:

image.png.19f3cd6c408ffbf404cefbaf2b196fb3.png

Obviously, there is no T1 to assign the chap to, so - of course - he gets assigned to the Commonwealth ship that the fewest people have probably bought, so maximising WG's income/resource drain for his retraining.

Objectively, it's really quite impressive how WG almost *never* miss a chance to maximise their income; as a commercial type in RL, I have to tip my hat to this sort of attention to detail. Doesn't make them any less Pralines & Richard, but still.

Anyway, the tokens from 6,000 doubloons spent will get you one 12 point captain; in contrast, training a ten pointer direct to a ship costs a quarter of that (before you even factor in retraining) - are those extra two points really worth another 4.5K doubloons (even if there are some impressive moustaches available in there*).

* as we all should know, a captain with an impressive 'tache adds at least a percentage point to your WR when using him. It's science.

Edited to cross out me talking bollocks, without trying to pretend it didn't happen...!

no because leveling from 10 to 12 is not big issue, if they would give us the choose when we can spend those 2 extra points then maybe

Premium ships dont require retraining, they are free to move and the Commonwealth doesnt have a tech tree so ... there is no retraining costs.

And that, right there, is an extremely good point. I shall go and play in traffic directly! <red face>

A nice reminder of the Yukkon controversy, though. Couldn't specialise him for one of the other, nicer Commonwealth ships, could they?

Nay, its not like Vampire and Perth actually fought in the Pacific ... OH WAIT!

Besides isnt it hilarious they put a Soviet commander were they saw no action in the Pacific (by the time they declared war to Japan, the IJN had effectively ceased to exist), they couldnt even put a German commander despite how the Monsun Gruppe is known. I give pass to other because China and France were there (France even got into a war with Thailand) so they have a cause but the Soviet Union? No.

Thank-you, Chiv, for all this Missouri 'scheme' info. Might it be more appropriate to use the word 'scam' instead of scheme?

I'm not planning on buying into this 'scheme', myself.

The ship is definitely not worth it... especially without the credit potential there.

I dont know what your problem is, thouse lootboxes are great: Just got Missouri out of the first one (and it even showed me it will be in the first one)

For everybody remembering that I said I dont pay money to WG anymore: Got the Gold from Ranked :Smile_trollface:

That or its my high Karma Value (still XXX), the fact that I made YT videos a long time ago and are still registered with WG *somewhere*(I am by no means a shill for them, also havnt uploaded in a long time), or the fact that I wrote some long post during the WG drama why the price of lootboxes is justified by

"the markt" as long as players are willing to pay so much for that. (I stand with this opinion still)

Or ofc plain old luck.

It's scummy but less than it was expected with 112k dubs in total.

I guess that because it was leaked WeeGee lowered the loot/gambling boxes because if you look at getting Johan De Witt it was 71 boxes. So if it had not been leaked it might have been 75 boxes that players had to buy to get mighty MO @MacArthur92

Like you said the return value’s will be much lower. I got the Abreu (1800), T5 4K comp, T6 5500D comp and 8500D for the T7. That 19800. T8 would have been the Orkan, a relative cheap T8. Would have ended far below 30k.

If Missouri drop is pure rng, you need Mo to drop around bundle 23/24 to break even. But that’s  in doubloon value, because you might get ships that you don’t like and what is the benefit of  a high value ship ( fe Graf Zeppelin ) when you hate CV’s…Did you actually win 14k or just a port queen… Putting value on the flags and camo’s is also difficult.

My Missouri dropped at no 21. So almost perfect at 50% of the drops. It’s really a gamble because receiving Mo after the 23/24 out of 41 bundles means a loss in doubloons compared to buying her directly after finishing the campaign.

Imo the gamble should only be made by players that have a very good chance of getting good ships / value from those T2-T8 crates aka ( former) whales because they can eliminate atleast one part of the rng. Remains the rng part of getting Mo at the 2nd bundle or in the 41th…

Hi @The_Chiv i have been looking at the prem-crates that you can get in the return of the Missouri a in total you can get 22.500 doubloons because all the crates have a fixed price for each tier and you can only buy crate.
