Your mistake was asking an unknown to you forbidden question. To the Gulag you 'wreaker'.  :etc_red_button:    Next question, Comrades ...

Dissent is not allowed in the Soviet Union - off to the gulag with you.   (WG just acts like they are the Supreme Soviet).

And yet there are still people defending this company.

Even if the community will totally stop buying stuff - WG is more likely to shut down the servers than to change. They are too proud. I'm from Poland and I know their mentality, I don't mean the people working for them but the headquarters. They'll burn down everything behind them just not to accept their failure. This is why we can't have healthy relations with them. Too high ego.

Imagine sticking to a company as a once commited gaming enthusiast, and every good idea gets thrown into the bin, every approach of doing something fails and has only one purpose and the entire communication consist of lies and everybody knows. Now tell this to your friends and they surely can only answer why the f*** you are still doing this to yourself. It is like people want to get scammed, robbed and being lied to.

That is not pride. It is hybris, stubbornness, arrogance and ignorance bordering on sociopathy.

And this is their mentality. And such people won't change. Maybe the younger generation is different but those who are on the top today ? Nah. They are more willing to shut down the business than to change it as the community wants it in general. They are like that not only in this game but in other structures as well, including their government.

It was singularly unimpressive but I often find the NA streams a lot more “corporate” in nature with how they slavishly follow the party line.

What amazes me is how the NA steams always have a lot more WG apologists in chat.

Someone in another thread said some people openly state they're supportive to WG simply as they think it'll give them better match making.

I mean, it is unbelievable except... there's a serious amount of people who believe covid is a conspiracy theory, or that vaccines are more deadly than it, or are a means to inject controlling substances to the population. So it's actually credible.

Yeah, never underestimate the power of human idiocy.

Also, I think @MacArthur92 is right about the Russian mentallity. The homo sovieticus mentality is a fact. Resentment, total denial and lies are their first, spontaneous reaction to any criticism. They cause the biggest nuclear disaster in history and lie about it for over a week, and then play its effects down for decades. They shoot down a passenger airplane killing 250 innocent civilians - "It wasn't us", until it's proven otherwise. There are photographs of Russian tanks in Ukraine but they keep saying "There are no Russian troops in Ukraine". A bunch of special forces guys are captured inside Ukraine - "They lost their way and accidentally strayed across the border".

So you mustn't be surprised when WG staff do the same. They were brought up in a country where "might is right", where lying to save face is perfectly OK, and where you avoid admitting guilt and saying sorry because that would show you as "weak".

Naturally I'm not saying that all Russians are like that, but certainly those in executive positions, and basically anyone who has any power.

I just read a sad story about a young boy who got himself vaccinated and was almost thrown out on the street by his mother who was convinced the vaccin was poison incapsulated in graphite which would be activated by the government by means of the 5G network and millions of people would die. This was supposed to happen on august 12th. She thought his vaccin was contageous. :Smile_amazed:

The only thing you can rely on a mob is to lynch individuals. The thing you can rely on with streams like this is that nothing is adressed, and nothing will change. ^^

The corporate culture at WG is toxic. Toxic cultures are self sustaining, as people who object to it leave out of themselves or are forced to.

WG will not change. Accept this for fact and decide accordingly what you want with WoWs.

What I want from WOWS is for them to stop driving this game into the grave.

That's a fait accompli. They will continue on this path. No question. Heck they have been for 3 years now.

Seriously?

WG demands respect yet when asking a question they get this petty as a response. Moral of the story they are done discussing the problem and are trying to sweep everything this past month under the rug.

Business as usual.
WG pretends they want our feedback and when they receive it, it gets dismissed.

Remember folks! We are just a minority!

The vast and huge base of casual players, the "quiet majority" loves this game and the changes and is desperate to get more

[sarcasm]

  1. loot boxes,
  2. dimensions (air, under water, what comes next?).
  3. They way those new dimensions were implemented.
  4. They want to have flags removed from accomplishments and rather buy them for dubloons in premium store
  5. they want tierX premiums for 100+ Dollars and don't see any gameplay issues in it
  6. they aren't bothered by major bugs not getting fixed for months and rather love to see more and more content to buy
  7. they don't want community contributors exposing issues (which they don't care or read about anyways)
  8. and they are in full trust of the "spreadsheet data" as it is the single source of truth
  9. and they appreciate the open, respectful and always acknowledging way of WG's community interaction. (but they don't read it, so it's just a side note)
  10. they don't appreciate the CC Exodus and just want peace and harmony - so ofc moderation has to remove and/or ban criticism, just in case one of the "majority" pays a look into the forum.

No, quiet in contrast:

  1. WE do not represent the regular player.
  2. WE are just loud.
  3. WE are a whales to get rid of
  4. WE don't generate money. Therefore, we don't matter.
  5. WE are living double standards (pointing at CCs leaving the program but still producing wows content and us not realizing it or something along the lines)
  6. WE are getting triggered way to easily and don't get the "true meaning" of whatever they want to say

Who is WE?
Well, everyone not appreciating the "astonishing performance" of wegee's development. The game is in an excellent state, no one could have made a better game out of it and in comparison, monetization strategy is mild.

Welcome to the end of this game. Let's just squeeze every single possible penny out of it, before it goes down.

The problem in corporations is that failed projects are often self-perpetuating. It's the issue of "sunk costs" - the more money and effort you've already spent on a project, the less likely you are to cancel it, even if you see it's going pearshaped. So you carry on, launch it, and then blame the customers for not buying it...

WG have been working on submarines for a few years now, so even if subs are absurd, overpowered and boring to play, they will launch them anyway, because otherwise they would have to explain to shareholders why they spent 2 years and millions of dollars on a failed project. Admitting to being wrong takes guts, and (like I said in my post above) it's not part of Russian culture. In fact, people find it psychologically difficult even in much more open, Western cultures.

@PRTA_tobi  The only point I disagree with is about us not generating money. Regular, long-term players would be more than happy to spend money if they saw the game wasn't being ruined by WG.  I have made purchases in the past, including a premium ship or two (although in principle I believe paying €65 for a bunch of pixels is ridiculous, if you can buy a whole new game like Witcher or Cyberpunk for the price of a single WOWS ship), plus premium account, gold etc.

The moment I stopped paying money is when I saw that the game started going downhill and nobody listens to the community. Why would I pay for new ships if, the way the game is changing now, I might stop playing it very soon? No point wasting money.

If, on the other hand, WG listened to our feedback and took it into account, I would be prepared to spend more money.
