I'm kind of getting worried here. Most of the jokes and memes on this forum now seem to become a reality a few days later (yeah I know, I'm kind of new here). I'm, as of this day, too scared to joke around about the future of this game. And to be 100% honest, I don't see how gambling mechanisms could go any lower morally. IF he has credit earning as he is now then maybe maybe would make a little sense but to spend over 400 dollars to get a tech tree ship with radar then we truly are monkeys. Too bad we cant reach ALL the players to boycot this loot boxes and not to buy any of them, but if only 100 players buy this scamboxes they will still make profit. I am so sad that we players cant do anything to stop this kind of gambling and even sader that no rule or regulation in the world doesnt want to stop them. The best thing to do at this point is to speak of such issues, try to be heard, so it becomes a problem that is commonly known by the general public. Luckily more and more people are now playing regularly and are exposed to such mechanisms on daily basis. Although one could argue that knowing of loot-boxes and understanding/recognizing the dangers and threats they imply is a completely different ballgame. There is hope. Countries like Belgium are actively fighting against practices like this. But it takes time. If nothing is done soon, not only this game will be ruined but there is a good chance the whole industry will (or is already) be following the same pattern. Creativity and excellence are two aspects that are already starting to become less and less important inside the gaming industry. I get why people might want a particular ship because of its history etc. even if it's a bit rubbish in-game (I bought Tiger for example, albeit at 25% off, and she's widely regarded as being pretty pants); what I absolutely don't get is paying way over the odds for same. Even opt out on other monetisation schemes that rely on pressure rather then invitation. (Dockyard etc) Then again... The WOWS and WOT populus has happily cohorted around WG's online gambling and lootboxes for quite a few years now. We buy lootboxes by the gazillions. It's that exact reason why it's so succesfull and why it gets worse each turn. WG can 'get away with it' becasue demand is high. It's fine, to each his/her own.
