Since WG seems to have a dictatorship tall hierarchy, I dont think you can expect much in terms of changes or unedited answers.

About time InternetHistorian made a video about wg similar to his fallout 76 one. Now that would be a fun one.

Well... makes sence.
Lot of people pretend to be pissed - at least enough to say that, but enough to go away...  :Smile_facepalm:

But its primarily the US CC part that was pissed about one of the most important US ships, the Missouri to becomming freely available
They stated lots of other reasons from months or even years back - but that never made them walk out.

So it makes sence that "the Twins" are joined by a few Americans on the front lines
(not that its going to help - haters are going to hate)

If we all went away why the f* would we waste time on reading and discussing WOWS then?

Don't be hard on the commander as i know him. He wants to play WoWs without all the B.S. we are facing all together. He is not a troll for that matter, like some others (not me :cap_money:)

Also peegee not selling enough of their stock it seems i wonder why:

Why do you think extending special offers indicates failures to hit targets? I mean i can see it says "while supplies last" but that'd question what the supply is. It's not like VISA is taking part in this, so it's just WG surely. So "while supplies last"... ?

Shops discount because they know it'll appeal to the mentality of buyers; people go "Oh I don't want to miss out on a bargain, I get free stuff!". But you don't. You spend money you didn't intend to spend (unless you've waited specifically for a sale, but even then, this indicates you wouldn't otherwise spend - so still winning from their side).

The extension is just to encourage people to spend money - probably that they wouldn't have done otherwise - due to bargain/freebies. Hardly a failure if people are parting with their cash is it.

It seems, they have a contract to sell x amount of digital goods, so when they dont hit said target they have to bring in other measures.

While I understand where you're coming from, I can give you a serious answer. (I work for a company that deals in digital advertising)

Usually when you sign a deal like this with another company, the agreement comes with a certain amount of 'inventory' (be it page impressions or the promise of X number of transactions) that is based upon the amount being paid by the client in advertising with you.

Once that 'inventory' is spent, then the contract is concluded.

So on the basis of that, it's possible that Wargaming hasn't cleared enough of their pre-agreed transactions with Visa to meet their contract obligations. Oops.

So no, i would say your wrong. Why would weegee suddenly give out discounts? Especially when they usually just have an event people suddenly buy all their stuff.

Also weegee isn't a shop the last i checked its a development company, shops discount because they need to get rid of stock or excess stock that is wasting space or no longer worth having.

Hardly a success when they need to do that.

Why would they give discounts? I did list precisely why... You think they've failed to sell volumes, okay.

Work in advertising, not marketing eh. I suggest you google why companies make product offers.

Honestly, I think people are scraping around to go "look, they suffer". Maybe they do, but given the ex-cc's are still playing, it doesn't exactly seem like a real "action" going on. E.g. have they never extended a promotion before?

Look forward to *something* really changing. Until then, just expecting it to be 1 month later and everything back to normal.

We're all just speculating here.

Whilst it's possible that enough people have finally shut their wallets (it took me long enough, for instance) for WG to notice, I have a suspicion that covid is more likely to be hurting WG: if they're looking at YoY figures, we were pretty much all on lockdown twelve months ago so they probably have quite a big target to beat (captive audience and all that), and easing of lockdowns may mean that a chunk of their customers are now out having a bit of a life rather than being hunched over a computer screen and buying DLC...

This is quite wrong

"With academic institutions closing and work operating on a work from home model, people have found more time on their hands to take on leisure activities. In a recent digital media trends survey held by Deloitte in 2020, their data found that during the onset of the pandemic a third of consumers have, for the first time in their lives, subscribed to a video gaming service. This was either through an e-sports tournament, a virtual sporting event, or a cloud gaming service.

The accessibility of online games such as betbind.com has turned casual players into dedicated ones, taking advantage of the isolated time and convenience of video game platforms. Game studios and publishers, as well as video streaming platforms, capitalised on this situation by making their services more engaging and easier to follow for recently converted online gamers who wish to cultivate their interest further given their newfound time. The online gambling market also saw a huge surge in 2020 that has spilled over to 2021. With lockdowns, travel restrictions, and more free time at home, leisure activities such as online casino gambling have also registered strong growth."

Covid suits Wargambling perfectly, as far as aquiring new players and opening player wallets is concerned.

well, depends very much on which region we are talking about. But home working and home studying are set to become the norm, rather than the exception. September through October will be crucial in the northern hemisphere, to understanding which way we are heading.

The people not wanting to go back to work are going to end up regretting it, because if someone can work at home from the computer, then employers can hire someone in Kolkata to work from thier PC for a fraction of the cost...

That old saying of 'careful what you wish for' comes to mind.

I think it is companies that are saving on office space, as much as employees wanting more less commute time. But more than either cause, the pandemic is not over, and in many regions we can expect a surge in cases as kids are allowed back into class and Autumnal weather arrives (October), as such, traditional weekend activities such as nightclubing are unlikely to become accessible in the near future. Lockdown lite is the new normal.

Are you really that void of understanding how humans work that you cant comprehend people can put up with loads of crap from others before they decide to walk away? This exodus was not primarily about the missouri BS, it was all the 'little' stuff of the last few years put together. Which could have been clear to you if you had actually made an effort to read their statements instead of farting, smelling it and declare your victory.

(not that this will help you comprehend information in any way - insert quasi edgy nonsense here)

I suspect you may have misunderstood me (or - more likely - I wasn't clear): I'm guessing that WG's revenues skyrocketed last year (per the passage you quote) due to covid, but the current easing of restrictions may mean that WG's customers are spending less than this time last year.

That's not to say that future waves/variants won't shut things down again, but rather that - if you're focused heavily on YoY numbers - the figures for right now could very easily be less than for Aug 2020. If the person doing the looking is sensible, they'll have at least half an eye on the previous year's numbers as well (so, Aug 2019).

The salient point I was wondering about is that if WG are seeing a decline in revenue, then is more likely to be driven by external factors (specifically, the current state of the pandemic, versus what was happening 12 months ago) than by whales like me finally shutting their wallets...
