How are you supposed to fight subs in a cruiser without ASW?

Its almost as dumb as the CV-CA interaction. But well done on pushing away the last few light cruiser players from the game. Well done.

Actually it is dumber. The CV usually loses some planes, at least.

If he throws them away too much he will suffer in damage output. 

Also, at least you get some points for planewhacking... :Smile_trollface:

 

..oh, and you do not have to throw a consumable at it that you'd rather use elsewhere.

I find Sub Torpedo damage is too high and the homing mechanic is too strong. I find some light homing fine for subs, but it's ridiculous right now.

Also they should give every ship some ASW, lost one game today because in the end there were 2 almost dead subs vs a healthy Graf Spee. The Spee player hadn't any chance to win this.

I said it in another topic. Homing torpedos are straight up toxic. We got rid of steathfire to now have homing torpedos locking on you out of nowhere. Makes sense.

Yup, used that word too. They are a toxic cheat mechanic.

ASW FOR ALL!

 

EDIT: Why from all US BBs  Massa and Georgia hasn't ASW?! Other US BBs has.

Also, Ranked became just poligon for testing ships with ASW and without ASW against subs with real player. Reason: Testing subs in coop with bots and in Ranked with players are two diffrent things. 

 

One of hard thing I find is to deal in same time against CV+subs (homing torps)+dd (torps) and guns from BBs and or without cruiser... And IN SAME TIME try to sink with airstrike submarines... THAT DOESN'T WORK.

 

BTW. Between players in subs are also large scale on skills - ones who hasn't clue what should to do and those players who sink up to 3-4- ships in one battle. It is too much impact for one subs in one game of 7 players per side... (I think we here also near again MM theme because in one team you have very good player but in sub and in other team very good player in BB, MM put = between him and player in other team who is in BB without ASW... He can be great player in BB but in that case against subs is helpless... ).

Wait til they hit Randoms. The cheat torps are going to be hated even more than CVs. 

At this point, WG is catering to two groups: the kind of poisonous, mediocre player who wants to hit others at no risk to themselves, and people with gambling addiction. That simple.

I see many bigger issues in Random...

About other: It is not really that split easy version of players... I know many players like me (you can look my stats, I don't hide nothing), many of them are disgusting all around subs and homing torps and MM, but also from other pole - just tonight I saw (and also today and yesterday) many players with 10k+ battles, over 50%WR, brutally and with knowledge use all power of subs. 

About addictive.... also that is REAL problem. Example: I am in this game 11 months, last black friday buy some crates, wish JB or Tirpitz, got nothing. BUT - saw myself that I think "I should by another, maybe it is that with ship....". My husband (he is in this game longer than me and yes, I am woman) explain to me how things is going, when I realize and know, imidiatelly stop. 

So problem is if you continue with that think "maybe ship is another crate" (and many many new players from positive thinking and not knowing go with that trying), became addictive and they didn't notice that. And many many new players aren't on Forum...

Personally, hate gambling, and everything related to that .

And PEGI should be for this game (bacause of lotboxes) 18 and not 7...

I have stated this from the start. WG has been adding to many different mechanics (💩) to the game, and now wont be able to counter balance the one with out breaking the other.

Feedback always welcome but since WG is a company of blind and deaf please use braille for the next feedback...

I out fought two of those pesky buggers in the Perth. I ate 4 torps at different stages of the battle but, they didn't realise it had powerful depth chargers.

 

12 straight wins Perth/Cossack combo

This is another issue, ASW effectiveness vary between "oneshot" for UK/US/JP and needing multiple passes, which I suppose in glorious spreadshiet says current ASW measures are fine:cap_book:

The only thing you can do is to get within the arming distance of the submarine's torpedoes and stay there until he has to surface. Which works, but isn't really viable in a Random or Ranked game where the red team will shoot what they can spot, so that bit needs more work. I think all ships should have at least one charge of an ASW weapon of some kind. 

 

With regard to homing torps, if you need to use the DSP to break the sonar ping, use it as late as you can. The submarine player will be firing their torpedoes in your general direction and using the sonar to guide the torps to compensate for your manouevres. (I find it easier to fire the torps and then ping throughout their run). What does completely suck is that Cruisers no longer have the Vigilance skill to work with, as that's a help -sub torps become visible at around 2.75/2.8 km which is close to Hydro detection range. They should probably remove one of those excessive Cruiser torp attack skills and replace it with a defensive skill like that.

WarGaming got rid with PvP mechanics when they released the CV rework. 

 

It is just a sandbox Coop game now. 

 

Apparently it isn't fun to get absolutely smashed by someone who isn't completely clueless.

Also, problem is - you in cruiser/bb (don't know about dd) have much longer reload of dcp than sub reload of ping and torps... So - you use one time (when torps are near you) and doddge, while you reload, next homing torps blow your ship completely... So, on the end, you are helpless...

 

EDIT: Go in coop in subs few times, first 2 times just to see underwater work of ART department (from respect exclusive for art department only!), first time shoot in TX just too see how and what that thing do, from 1 single non guided torps over 30 k dmg on shikishima . Next time didn't shoot even on bots (toxic homing torps I don't respect) and next time last night just to check up this reload and income/outcome credit (also didn't shoot on anyone). Many things are clear now in my head because I saw. That thing is over and too much toxic.

I don’t know cruisers but you definitely can’t dodge homing torps with BBs regardless of awsd. And the depth charge planes are a joke. Subs, a very poorly designed and implemented feature into the game.
