(as the great doug stanhope would put it) Well Jingles might not be on point here. The financial results for WoWS EU are catastrophic. Since early 2020, their revenue is dropping constantly. They let go half the staff and changed the location of the office to reduce costs. So they might think subs will bring fresh blood ready to spend the money they need, but i think they are delusional. Most of the pew pew players are NOT the heavy spenders in most of the f2p games. Yes they are a source of income, but apparently, judging by the data, it is far from enough. The only thing you need to be aware of is that you are the product being sold if you do. Which is fine if you don't mind. I uninstalled becasue I think the developer and publisher are trash, and actually think the game stinks atmo which is my main reason. No fun to be had for me. What you will do by playing is support the game and it's developer. That is perfectly fine. But stop kidding yourselves. Seriously. Play to your hearts content, but stop pushing this weird 'drain their resources' myth. Not paying them is great if that is what you want.
