Warspites detection range of about 13km negates the Japanese range advantage in the early phase of a battle and the spotter plane can largely make up for the rest, 

Besides whilst the Fuso's guns are pretty good the Kongo often feels like its shooting sewing needles rather than shells, 

Get Warspite within 14km of either a Kongo or Fuso and if she's well handled she'll wreck them taking little damage herself

 

it depends on the map more likely Kongo will have the advantage being a fast battleship with very accurate guns

if you mount the close quarters flag you can push the secondary's another 0.4Km to 7.6Km.

 

 surprise DDs now i'll be hunting you :red_button:

 

I'm yet to hit a destroyer with my secondaries on war spite they are extremely inaccurate see the thread in gameplay forum

Well, I've done over 15,000 secondary damage to destroyers in one match before. Usually because I'm the only one spotting and shooting them :angry: (hurray for German and Soviet 16km sniper cruisers!)

 

Don't underestimate module damage too, there's nothing better than ripping apart gun turrets and engines. The tier 5 commander skill is getting a buff soon as well! Can't wait :trollface:

With pointer on target, guns fail to give green target to fire .

The ship need buff otherwise remain in port . I can only advise against the purchase for now .

Your opinion is based upon 5 battles. I've got 66 and I think she is a good well balanced BB.

Enemy ships see it and hit before you can hit them , the ship is slow and can not escape, if you turn the turrets can not shoot because they are slow .

Where do you see it balanced ?

perhaps as a level 5 could go as 6 sucks, the Kongo is better

give me the objective data and not subjective feelings

Because Warspite is a premium ship and with that far less people have it.

Kongo gets raped by Warspite every time unless someone plays horrible with his Warspite.

I have 211 matches in her now since OBT started and another 100+ during CBT and I really love playing her.

It is true that she is rather slow and has low range but she has decent armour an excelent maneauverability for a BB, excelent secondary guns and decent dispersion with the 15" guns that hit far harder than Kongou's 14" guns.

In a match Warspite vs Kongou or even vs Fusou I would always pick the Warspite as she is superiour 1 on 1. What troubles her is getting spotted by DDs and getting shot at by BBs and Cruiser from outside her range but if you use the islands to your advantage you can negate that advantage of the enemy very often.

It's still my favorite ship in the game, very good accuracy, i love the maneuverability and the nice 7.6km range secondaries once you have all the upgrades fitted.

Fire can be a weakness, and a skilled carrier can deal you a lot of damage. The only thing you are unable to repair against is the explosive damage dealt by torpedoes.

nothing like 32 rounds an minute flying at those brave destroyers and if nothing else it tends to scare them off

Can any other battleship fire 6 secondary guns, at long range, when pointed straight at another ship? The Queen Elizabeth class won't be able to.

You only need 17 degrees to fire all of them on one side, those arcs are very, very aggressive. :izmena: I can't wait until they buff the 5th row secondary skill :playing:

Here's some objective data. The grand old lady is doing rather well. (I'd put the rather high average XP down to constant tier 8 match making :teethhappy:)

Kongo is a tier 5 Tirpitz, it's AMAZING and forgiving but the playstyle is very different. Warspite is hard but once you figure it out, boy your in for a treat.

Kongo vs Warspite? What build? :P In general it's a tough call. High tier Kongo players usually beat me by closing the distance and 'out turning' the slow turrets. Warspite will easily win in a long/mid range gunnery dual.

I have bought Warspite recently ... and I like it  !!

Well, Warspite is not fast, and turret turning is ... not the strong feature of the ship, but ... it is very hard nut to crack !!

 

Oh, my new British Lady ... we have good time together in battles on the vast sea ...   :playing:

the thing i found with the turrets it to pick a side to engage on and stick to it if you can then you never have any turret turning and if you do yo can use the ships great turning to make up for it :)

The flag should actually go on the fore mast above the conning tower though, right? There's a little support that sticks out there for a flag. I guess they chose the rear mast since it would clip into other objects around the fore mast more noticeably.

Would be nice if the name-plate's gold text showed its colour through camouflage.

The overall net gain in Oerlikons is only 2, since they removed two from the rear deck.

 

 

I'd prefer they fix the wonky armour/citadel over flag placement, name and turret AA.

 

This will come in 5.9.

Well, Warspite never looked like Warspite without them to me, so I am pleased to see them. The camo should apply to them in due course. Not so sure on the camo, it looks a little too blue for her 1942 camo.

Secondary's   are a beast on her, esp with the extended range on them, she can rip up DDs in no time scoring dozens of hits.

The slow turret rotation can be made up with rudder control, its not ideal but its not the end of the world, the only thing that bugs me about her is that when a young sailor lights up a fag she bursts in to flames. or at least it seems that way.

 

I think they are dropping her lower in the water on the next update? that might help protect her Cit a little better
