Friesland IRL in port in Sweden

Just was out and about doing some photo/droneflying in Gothenburg when i stumbled upon Friesland in Gothenburg harbour.

 

For s split second I was tempted to launch my drone and get some stellar shots of the ships from the sky as I have of HMS Småland that is a museum ship in Gothenburg. But then it struck me that it might not be a great idea to fly a drone close to an active warship of a foreign nation....

Hmm, you should have taken it for a test cruise, up to WGs office to check the ships systems and back

I asked a couple of serious looking dudes on deck if it was possible to do a tour of the ship, but I guessed it wasent the purpose of their visit.

 

I think it was 2 years back we had a stealth looking Swedish Visby class warship in Gothenburg and then you could take a tour.

It's the new Friesland. The one in the game is an older vessel.

Presumably because the current Friesland is one of the Holland class?

friesland is een ship from the holland class  the wiki page is of the class there are four  of these ships 

Holland, zeeland, friesland and groningen

Friesland is listed on there as one of the four Holland class ships with Penenant Number P842 which matches your photos.

Yes, because when you see a warship with a name sign on the side "Friesland" and then you see the walkway that says "Friesland" you usually don't think its the name of thew ship but instead go to a Wiki page and try figure out what ship it can be. I don't know how this works in your country but in Sweden when it says "Småland" on the side of the ship you know its the ship Småland.

No idea unfortunately but I got the feeling it was a very unofficial visit maybe just to fuel the ship and stock up on goods.

No one is saying it isn't the Friesland.... The guy posted you the wikilink telling you exactly what ship it was and you seemed to argue with him for some reason.

No, cuz there was a "miscommunication"  between Friesland and Groningen Commanders which caused a "communication gap" while they were discussing "Commander skills rework".

Just like the name sign on the side and the walkway imply, the ship's name is Friesland. It's one of the Holland class ships. 

You do know how ship classes vs ship names work don't you?
