I... really don't understand the logic behind this WG. Even assuming one wants to spend big, i doubt there are going to be many willing to spend THAT big.
I mean, what is the allure of the offer supposed to be? The tier 9 container doesn't even drop any of the good stuff! No Alaska, no Kronk no Musashi or Missouri. Nope! It just drops one of the currently available tier 9s.

It is quite common that companies that make f2p games (including mobile games and browser games) are making money on whales.

 

Whales, players that spend big money on the game, are target of those containers. They are players who buy anything that can help them, or just buy everything so they have everything.

 

You can find articles where it is explained that only 2% of players can make 50% of profits.

 

You see, now you can buy a container that might give you some perma camo. Let's say every 3rd container has a perma camo, meaning you have to buy 708 containers for total of 531 000 doubloons or about 1666 euro.

I don't know how many active players are there, wiki says there was 1 million active players a month.

 

So imagine all of them buying 3 containers before realizing they get almost nothing out of that. That's 2 250 000 000 doubloons spent.

Now imagine that 2% of those players buy 708 containers, that's 10 620 000 000 doubloons spent.

 

Why would WG care about 980 000 players that spend 2 000 000 000 doubloons if there are just 20 000 players that spend 5 times more!

 

Every company is focusing on those 2% of players that pay a lot monthly. The rest that spend 25 euros a year aren't that important.

Seeing this come in now... it's really frustrating.

It's sad to see that they really learned nothing from every last major container or sale introduction. It's just a scam and like @Asta__Roth mentioned above, it's mainly targeted at people that are willing to spend large amounts of money.
I too did spend some money in the past, but seeing what direction it takes, they won't see a penny from me again.

 

Why would any sane person spend up too 400€ just to get some loot boxes and a guaranteed tier 9, which in fact is from a short list because there are no real special ones included?

 

But we sure know that it won't be the last time we get a "sale" or extremly overpriced casino roleplay (halloween, blackfriday, christmas).

To be honest.. I do love that they do this.. makes it SO damn easy to not spend as much as I used 3, 4 and 5 years ago.. because back then there were SALES, good discounts.. Not these over bloated useless bundles full of junk...

 

But I know why they removed the achievements, because now people find the shitty bundles almost better, alas they keep messing it up, the bundles include only the economy flags, which you can buy alone.

playing since beta, i was more than happy to throw money at this game
now that i have even more disposable income than ever, i spend next to nothing.

my magic card collection and PC, PS4 library has all gotten a "lot" bigger since i'm not spending on this game anymore :3

I also find it "interesting" that in places where WG has to tell the odds of item being dropped from a loot box, WG's promotion and offers of loot boxes is rather limited.

They don't care. Lootboxes are banned for a reason in these countries. It's gambling and fuels addiction. Does WG care? Not really,  it brings in tons of money for a few flags and disposable camo. Notice they never share drop chances? You should know why.

WG could not better show more disrespect towards the community and what they think of it. It gets more silly with every event. They have no issues charging astronomical fantasy prizes for scam boxes and gamble, but again and again have the audacity to try to rip off clueless players and they make no effort whatsoever to even check their texts properly. This did not happen just once, it happens every f***ing single time for years. At some point I feel like the employees who are still working in the "communication" area of such a company are directly too to blame for such faults, because again and again they defend such an abusive employer and try to calm players down with more silly excuses.

Saw the "Summer Sale" in the launcher and was hoping to get the opportunity to get some ships I've missed out on so far.

What I saw was an image of yet again a weird crate and some gibberish, another kind of token that I don't care for and lastly some weird offers of "only 162,00€". I closed the window, got rid of this event in my head and just played a few games.

 

You know, I would have been happy to pay 30€ or 40€ on some ship that I wanted but since that's not on option here, I'll probably spend it for some hentai creator on patreon or a take-away pizza.
