So stopped playing this game back in February, cam back a couple of weeks ago. I see a whole new Royal Navy line, but again, not a single ship with a name connected to Wales.

Perhaps the developers keep sheep and dont want to scare them with a welsh connection?

let me also add:
in this game? I'd be more ashamed than proud for having a ship named for my home town/capital/favorite ghetto/aunt anni's smores cottage than anything, given how abysmally greedy wedgie has become and for the general state of the game

There aren't any Cornish ones, either. :)  *Celtic grumbling intensifies*

Anyway, isn't it Monmouth for a Welsh ship?

There should be. It's both County and Duke class.

Ironically, I see HMS Cornwall was a Monmouth class cruiser.

So we'll get a HMS Monmouth in the game. Shame in stream they said it was English.

It's a county. Also was a dukedom till the holder lost his head (quite literally at that)

He did. Quite badly -  the executioner was the infamously incompetent Jack Ketch.  Good to see the Monmouth name in the game, though, should be a good bote if it's descended from Goliath.

Now, how about HMS Falmouth?

I'm personally hoping for Kent. You have heard the story of what she did at the Falklands right?

Redemption of the County Class. Everything went in the boilers until a ship supposed to do about 21 knots over ran a modern light cruiser. I could say that HMS Cornwall gave a decent account of herself in the same engagement. I'd be happy with either of those ships in either County form, tbh.

Helped somewhat by two of Leipzig's boilers deciding to go quit (explode) on her mid chase to be fair.

Don't think anyone was doing measuring of that speed but I'm pretty sure she surpassed not only her trials speed in that  chase, but also her designed speed, which she failed to hit on trials.

Now that's not something you see every day, unless you just ran into the Rodney.

Just shows how complicated warship building was/is. How two ships of the apparent same design can perform so differently is quite beyond me!

As more fictional Royal Navy ships are being added to the game, some of the names are just bizarre. HMS Scarlet Thunder? I thought HMS Nottingham was bad ( what with it being so far from the sea)  maybe they'll bring HMS Litchfield into the game (furthest place from the sea in the UK)?

What's happened to HMS Monmouth?  Why not bring in an N3 Battleship, rather than these bastardized versions they created, according to Wiki (it must be true) they were going to be named after the UK Patron Saints, St George, St Andrew, St David and St Patrick( who was also Welsh) Maybe if this game was designed and produced in a country with a naval tradition it wouldn't be in such a mess. Oh yeah, where the fudge is my HMS Cardiff?

You can pretend Scarlet Thunder is in reference to the famous Scarlets rugby team and Llanelli (HMS Llanelli would have been a nightmare to pronounce) is certainly in Wales and by the sea.

Name is irrelevant, they generally follow the same mold. AP only, paper armour, giant citidel, small caliber, decent concealment.

Still waiting for HMS Rodney. But we get more fantasy ships.
