I knew it was a real thing but didn't think it was more an a novel idea that didn't really work (like the AA rockets on Hood).

Something I found useful was someone drawing my attention to the fact that you can reduce the opacity of the mini-map such that you can see through it without loss of important range/ship information. FWIW I run mine at pretty much maximum size (or close to it), but with the opacity set such that I can see stuff that's going on behind - best of both worlds. 53 minutes ago, Cyclops_ said: Don’t laugh. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.techeblog.com/aerial-smoke-curtian-world-war-2-naval-ships/%3famp This. I seem to recall that it was suggested that the 'missing' CVs would eventually return as more of a support class, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if plane dropped smoke eventually becomes a thing. Well it was and it wasnt, look at what planes are being used, the Douglas A-20 Havoc. Naval ships didnt need then because they could make their own smoke with blackjack and hookers so it was a waste of time and planes to use then in that purpose, even if the M10 Smoke Dispenser was small enough but they couldnt carry as many as a medium bomber of course that was another reason why they didnt use then, better let the USAF to do it for then and use their aircraft for other roles.
