TBH, if the trade-in would work like it does in WoT, this would be a very bad idea. You'd paying throwing good money after bad, because essentially you'd be handing over a tank that you no longer want to get a tank no one wanted in the first place. Contrary to WoT, in WoWS, you have a lot of premium ships available for other currency than gold, and you also have several ways to gain a good amount of golds for free (I bought this year Ark Royal and Ise without spending a dime !!). Plus you have coupons. So you can get new premium ships quite easily without paying, then you don't need to sell back older ships to buy new ones ...
