Hi,

May I suggest that you keep the old visual effects concerning the destruction of the submarines and the explosion of the underwater grenades, both seen out of the water and in the water.
In this version you have reduced it to its simplest form and that's a shame.
The destruction of a submarine seen from a ship was, before, absolutely bluffing, now it is very neutral, basic.

About the speed of submarine torpedoes :
In a destroyer, I was going faster than the torpedoes launched against me and so I was able to avoid them without any problem...

Concerning the damage of the submarine torpedoes, wouldn't it be interesting to increase them a bit?

The rest of the gameplay is nice,

I'm sure it's fine, thank you.

Thank you as it’s doubly annoying as you can’t do much testing and as I got carried away I missed out on completing 2 missions for the rewards.

You can't even control the ships that are currently in the game, why do you want it te bo even more complicated? 

So far, Submarines make the game even more defensive, especially for battleships. You push - you likely get attacked by a sub and people are hesitant to push even a bit right now when there arent even subs...

its planned since that one halloween event we had with subs. so, we already know that. and ofc we all know its also decided to implement them in all game modes. you are very welcome not to make any comment if you are gonna lie anyway :Smile_sceptic: keeping it shut is better than lying

so, you are not lying? ok, then can you tell us since when WG has been planning to add subs? tell me its not like since 5-6 months before the halloween event. 

they are beeing tested in ranked. tell me its not already decided to implement them into randoms.

As I said and replied earlier, it wasn't decided when exactly they will appear in all modes, but it is more than sure, that we are planning to have them in all modes. 

Since when WG is planning to add subs? Don't know exactly, but it is from the year when they appeared on Halloween (so 2019, 18? Damn sclerosis). At the beginning of the game, we weren't planning to add them, as back then devs saw it impossible to implement them in the engine and with the possibilities they had then.

\the game would not load so missed the chance to try this out but reading the comments above, I am not surprised why do WG shoot themselves in the foot so often.

Special Features of the Test

The rewards for activities on the Public Test Server may differ from those on the Live Server.

During Public Test 0.10.7, all players will have access to Tier VI submarines, which they can play in Co-op and Ranked Battles in a 7 vs. 7 format. Tier VIII and X submarines can be obtained by completing combat missions.

The reward for completing the 24th shipbuilding phase on the Public Test server is 100,000 Coal instead of  VIII De Zeven Provinciën.

Round 1 was perfect, had a good time playing with the subs.

It is not quit the real thing but it comes close.

Was a submariner from 1977 until 1980 in the Dutch Navy.

Cant wait to play Round 2

Public test is not live yet. It will be available starting today 18:30 until Tuesday morning.

Round 2 - Fight!

Periscope depth gets an indirect buff, cause the difference between surface and underwater pings is removed, this is nice and periscope depth was always the better mode for attacking, cause of torpedo arcs and better visibility.

Sending pings out now only blooms subs to 4km detectability. Torps changing depth faster now. The smaller bloom is an indirect attack buff and faster diving/surfacing torps will be interesting in sub vs sub combat, cause torps could be dodged easily by going up or down.

 Sonar ping now has a uniform speed. In general it's slower than the old underwater ping was. But 600 on the Balao is ok, and with the skill you get another 10%. Also more width, increased by a factor of 1.5.  This is also gonna make pinging easier.

U-69 got a much needed buff to sonar and torp range. It had the smallest margin between detectability and torp/sonar range before. Which was silly, cause it's a Type VIIC, one of the most widely used German subs and it should not have sucked so bad.

...couple of other stuff and asw changes. Still no love for German, ITA, Russian BBs when it comes to defense.

So what the changes mean: In general subs are now a little stealthier with a greater zone of undetectability. Pinging will be (even) easier and periscope depth is the best attack mode. Also sub vs sub might be over way faster cause of torpedos changing depth quicker. "You get outspotted by another sub, you die".

@YabbaCoe - speaking about ASW armament of ships.  There is an interesting list of ASW data here.

I watched some video (twitch) with tests of this new weapon. But... destroyers have ASW - great. Some BB have ASW, too (I saw it at Fuso, Montana, Yamato) - OK. But WHY so many cruisers (especially CA - American, Japan, French, British heavy... Dutch??) don't have this weapon? No depth charges, no anti-sub planes... they will be useless/ defenceless in the upcoming anti sub battles :-(  So, will they get something during PTS stage 2, or this is another nerf for them (after removing survi perks from cruisers some time ago)? In this moment they'd better stay in port looking for the better future... what do you think about it?

Don't know where to post that : in Frenche, some voices are really excelllent, for example "destroyer ennemi pulvérisé" but some others are ridiculous such as "j'ai besoin de données de reconnaissance".

 

Please, change the ridiculous french voices... :Smile_great:

Sorry to ping-bother you here but there is - at least in my opinion - a major issue with PTS rewards for the live server. I'll try to explain:
 

- there are rewards in the appearance of Community tokens for ranking out in each ranked league on PTS (300/Bronze, 700/Silver and 1.000/Gold)

- there were celarly visible 2 identcal missions, one for round 1 and one for round 2, going by the requirements of playing 3 games of ranked (any league) with 4 different ship classes (DD, cruiser, BB, CV), equalling a required 12 ranked games per round of PTS to get both 500 Community Token rewards

 

(so far, not the actual problem, but neccesary information)

 

- now, round 2 of PTS ranked got NOT reset to Bronze league
- so any player that ranked out up to Gold in round 1 has to fit in 12 mandatory games (3 each for DD, cruiser, BB and CV) with only 5 stars to rank out again on Gold and get locked out of further ranked games

- this fact was NOT clearly communicated anywhere in the news articles or in game on PTS

 

This now requires players to actively throw games to not rank out too soon in order to get the full reward for the "play 3 games each" mission.

 

This is of course destroying the game experience for anybody playing ranked and actually trying to win and rank out. And it puts players like me in the very dire situation of either giving up a major part of the rewards (after all, 500 Tokens are a big part when goodies for them (like the permanent camos you cannot get anywhere else right now) start at 2.000 and 3.000 Tokens to trade in).

 

Appologies again for bothering you with the ping here, but I think (and reactions on the WoWs discord kinda back me up with this feeling) this is a big issue in need of either getting an instant fix or at least to be avoided in the future, if WG is planning on keeping the current Community Token reward system for PTS/live server.

There is also a mission requiring me to play yet anotehr 3 games of ranked in T10 submarines in ranked for another 750 Community Tokens (again, a pretty big amount), making it a total of 15 games to fit into 5 stars to gain. Leading to more games that will get thrown on purpose.

@YabbaCoe I just discovered that I can't actually finish the 500 Community Token mission in part 2 of the PTS because I've ranked out already -- and the final match cannot be played (did 11 of the required 12).

That is rather depressing considering the amount of time invested in doing all of it. When the rewards are calculated I expect WG to count this mission as finished because it's been blocked from completion.

Why do you think I suicided into you in that match 30min ago? (it is actually 15 though, not 16)

yup i ran into the same problem i tried to throw my but team wanted to win so badly...sooo i ranked out and now its grey and i cant do any more testing at all...kinda defeats the purpose...do we need a test for PTS as well?? all this seems very clumsy to me.
