Love the photos.

Correction for CV-3 USS Saratoga. Description implies that ship was carrying 2 forward turrets and one aft. Pre-refit '41-42 Saratoga was armed with 8x 203mm/8" guns in 4 turrets 2+2 fore/aft. Giant funnel obscures the third turret visibility.

I know that USN capital ships were designed to fit through the Panama canal, but it always impresses me to see how they actually did it.

Can't help but imagine the crew had some apprehensive thoughts :-

Captain : Everyone breath in - this is going to be tight

Helmsman : We should have brought a smaller boat

Engineer : I'm gonna need a bigger paint brush

I am glad, that you like these photos!

With Saratoga, she had that 4 turrets already in 1929?

Let's not forget about the Panama mount for 155mm guns :)
