Ofcourse, As i have all dockyards ship, but I am Dutch and my granduncle was a officer on that ship it has emotion link for me. Also I collect ships so this is a must have for me.

I already put some money on the side to buy this one. And the Steel and other thing is a nice bonus.

 

I wish they change the reload to 6 s again as she had autocannons with a fire rate of 42 rounds a minute.... I never understood why she needed 3 air strikes with 1 i would be happy too. Also she share her Hull with the Eendracht and Kijkduin as those were the 1939 en 1942 (i think it could be also one of the A-D plans for her in 1948) version.

Yep, I'm in. Although I'd do a quick check of the missions before my final decision. I want to check if missions look reasonably doable before buying in. Looking forward to the ship, I like the camo, and I think dockyard events are nice in general.

I probably won’t bother, usually I’m happy to do most of the dockyard ships and I play enough most grinds are doable. 

It’s just I’m not taken with the whole air strike aspect and because that’s such a key part of these Dutch cruisers I’m put off from playing them.

Yes, Will buy the minimum package ( after having checked the difficulty of the missions for any backbreaking pain) 
 

Pro’s:

• 4 K cost is no problem since I am on FTP due to the CT free doubloons farm.
• Real ship ( first of the dockyard events)
• Dutch ( a bit of patriotic pride…)
• a bit of “ I collected them all until now”
• ship looks good. 
• The most grindy part is during my vacation, so can make the time investment.

Cons:

• Dislike the airdrop gimmick especially considering the loss of actual firepower sacrificed. ( imo entire line suffers from this) —> collect ship/ port queen
• Once again the obligation of commitment due to sunken costs etc..
• the paltry 250 steel reward for going beyond. No motivation to buy the larger package.

Unknown:

• the different phase rewards. What will we get for completing the  23 other phases? Looking at the last versions my expectations are low. So no Tx premium intermediate reward since that kind of generosity is limited to the Xmas dockyard….

Strassbourg was a 2020 Xmas ship, but from  a set of missions. Hizen was the DY reward from 2020 Xmas. Strassbourg was completely free to get if you could finish the missions on time.

I cant say I've seen all videos out there regarding these cruisers, but do they seem strong at all? Seems like the gimmick of the airstrike is their best feature. AP seems meeh and HE seems meeh as well. Am I wrong?

Had only time today after getting the Dutch Cheese Coins from the missions for Kijkduin to play a single CoOp battle in her. 67k damage (mostly HE and Bombers) no sinkers and 13 bot Ryujo planes shot down.

So at least for CoOp it seems okay-ish. In randoms it's planes probably work even better, due to bots not being of the camping type, unlike as human players.

Just checked the Dockyard event on PT. There are currently 2 intermediate rewards that stick out. For phase 14 you get a T5 random premium container and for phase 23 ( hidden behind the paywall) 1500 steel. Rest are your random dragon flags, Dutch usable camo, some FXP, premium days etc.

If these rewards make it into life that T5 container can make this event free of cost ( if you buy the smaller package of 3 phases in advance) if you have all T5 premiums that drop from this crate and get that 4K doubloon refund.

for T5 prem alone I can  get 4k doubloons, so basically the ship becomes free form me. Starters are 3950 and 8950 doubloons, respectively.

Only if there will be such a note by WG on the event page. What if they put a note for silver credit return?

Let's face facts, Dutch ship or not, it's not a good ship. 

 

Not worth the grind or effort for this one sorry. 

 

Ancorage was, Zf6 defo was, this isn't. 

 

Need a bigger Carrott to get me involved with another dockyard grind. 

 

The whole Dutch ship thing is so disappointing. It looses so much for air strikes. They could have brought one down and raised the other to a more balanced level. 

 

This is what happneds when you try and balance a ship on a stupid so-so gimmick.
