We had and will have events only on our server, so this one is a special event only on RU server. It is possible, that there will be some stuff also globally, so stay tuned for more information coming soon.

Can you please name the last EU only event of this scope? You know with a mini-campaign, extra missions, and bonuses?

And the community-manager said that he is currently "focused on WoT, as WoWs is only a side project."

Amazon recruiting station event was only for EU and NA (if I remember that correctly).

Mini-campaign, we had the Bismarck one. We also had some regional ones, like tournaments, contests etc.

Right, so not an EU exclusive and not an event with free rewards but instead a paid recruitment drive. Try harder.

The Bismarck web campaign was for all servers.

 

In short, WG EU has not bothered to create a EU only event celebrating  any anniversary or event with an extensive list of rewards through missions, campaigns, participation.

 

We truly feel engaged by the community management.

Commanders, on July 25 we will celebrate the main holiday for all Russian sailors - the Day of the Navy. 

This is a very special date for us, our project and our huge community of players (Except that EU lot, they can go stuff it). We give honor to all those who have linked their lives with service and the sea, becoming the heir to the glorious history of one of the most powerful fleets in the world. (Is it though? last I checked their only aircraft carrier had a tendency for self immolation and most of the ships still in use were of Cold War era vintage... Hell the wiki on the Russian fleet states that "Some analysts even say that because of this Russia's naval capabilities have been facing a slow but certain "irreversible collapse" " and while you have to take what Wiki says with a pinch of salt it does tend to roughly point in the right direction).

As every year, as a sign of our boundless love and admiration for the fleet, we invite you to celebrate this wonderful holiday together!

Well, you can have a powerful navy moored in your port and be impressive on paper. That's called the Tirpitz Syndrome AKA Fleet in Being.

One look at the Russian navy and with around 600 ships it does seem strong. But how are the ships maintained?

A badly maintained ship might as well be a barge out of Ramsgate with chicken livers on board in terms of combat effectiveness.

Russians already have a bad track record in that category. Just look at all the maritime accidents they suffered.

 

And to play the devil's advocate, one Borei class submarine with a full combat load, is enough to maintain Russia as a global naval power. Russia's position as one of the few nations allowed to legally build and operate nuclear weapons puts it head and shoulders above conventional navies.

For some reason, I tend to compare Russia with Warhammer 40K orcs in terms of technology. It's crude, it's destructive, if it works perfectly it is quite effective, but oh boy if it goes wrong it does so in a spectacular way - and it goes wrong very, very often.
