I am kinda amazed at the lack of understanding of the word "free". There is no such thing as "Free" in this game, you either pay with cold hard cash to get a resource (then use that resource to get a other resource or purchase directly) or play to "farm" a resource. Are your time not worth anything (right)? If yes, you can say free exp is free, but for me free exp is only free in the sense that it's usable as any exp in game (captain, module/ships or premium ships). Coal can be farmed as well as steel. You can somewhat farm doubloons, but that's wholly based on luck.

WG have not had a doubloon sale for several years, they somewhat frequently have free exp conversion special offers. You can sometimes buy steel in the dockyard events and sometimes coal (also in loot chests).

I got the Mo when it was available for free exp. Credits in general is not a big issue so the Mo has been mothballed more or less, take it out for fun once in a while, but it's such a crap ship it's depressing.

My free exp I invest in research bureau. As the value of that currency has been 0 for 1.5 years.

Meh... Anyway, never sell your time for pennies, always evaluate if it's worth it for you to outright buy it to save time, either way the price is usually pretty steep whichever currency you prefer (time or cash).

-Fes

Hmm, if I don't pay money, it's free. Because it's a game, and I play it for fun. So if time is considered as a resource, then it would make the terms "for free" irrelevant, and then we could remove it from our dictionary, because everything costs time in the end

So...if I understand, Missouri comes back with a nerfed economic bonus. She was ok until now and suddenly, when earning credits never has been so easy, she is not anymore ok because of the credit bonus. I just don't get it...

If you remember, those missions for modules had deadline visible as 31.12. as the interface required to put there also a year, while the year wasn't visible.

With Legendary upgrades, we completely changes the way of they delivery, so that is why it was announced one year in advance, that those missions will end and also those missions were still running even while they were already in Research Bureau.

The official stance now is, that those missions should be permanent. Nobody knows, if they will be removed after a year, two, five, a thousand, but I personally hope, they will never be removed.

But that official stance can be changed in an instant. We players need a guarantee about it. And in the first iteration, those module missions were supposed be removed in a patch cycle or two, only the community uproar made them last a year. As for hoping... there's a great saying about this: hope in one hand and spit in the other and see which one fills up first.

But you have already nerfed the Missouri even before this new update. She aint giving the same credit output as she did from the start. U could almost 1 mil from a loose before. Now u aint getting more like 450-600 k on a loss. Even if u do haft decient in the match.  Another nerf u did with out mention it?!

I tend to agree. I'm not a big Missouri fan, but I remember it was easy to get 1M+ credits games without special flags or great score.

Along the way she was nerfed to the point she is almost equal in credits to the other t9 special ships.

Now you need all flags + credits camo + 4k bxp game to make 2M.

Well, this option will be in game for the duration of the update, so 4 weeks. Also it was announced now, 3 weeks before the implementation of that particular update to live server.

So there is plenty time to plan that, also during 0.10.7 there will be plenty time to do all that, even change your mind, when you for example set commander in one way and after a battle you decide to pick different skills.

Obviously this option will be only during the update when those big changes are applied.

It is still bad. I'll be on vacation during the update so I am stuffed once again. It would really be nice for Wargaming to acknowledge that their aging fan base has more stuff to do than logging in to a client on their whim. Stuff like this and the constant here a new currency and there a new rip off is driving me away for good. Nvm... I just uninstalled WG's gaming center and I guess I am done with this.

During the time, when she was available for purchase, we had quite plenty battles with several Missouris per team. And overpopulation of certain ships is not really good. Basically the same happened with Jean Bart and Smolensk. We would like to have battles with more variety of setups. That is why some ships are removed from sales because of their huge popularity in battles.

That doesn't address the poster's question on how to properly plan battles. The article says Missouri was being played more often than some players planned. How did WG become aware of the plans of these players? How should we submit our plans to WG so they are aware that we are playing ships according to our plans - not more often than that - and why is WG concerned that players play the game in accordance with a pre-conceived plan?

I wouldn't lose my sleep on this guess...

This is simply another example of WG lying to its players or at least not willing to tell the truth. Think for a moment. Are they nerfing a ship because is too strong and unbalanced? no

Earning more silvver than another do create a problem ? Not really.

So what is the main reason?

I suspect this is very directly related to the achivment removal. IMO WG is trying to remove everything that could help F2P .  If you own a MIssouri you may still earn some good silver even without a premium account.

This in the eyes of WG is unacceptable.

Missouri is my most played ship at 223 games. I hate it, I really detest this ship.

I played it far more than I would ever have elected to if it were not for the fact it generates so much in the way of credits.

I did not plan to play it 2-3x more than even some of my favourite ships. But when I need credits why would I play 3-5 games in one ship when a single game in Missouri produces the same.

This choice is a result of WGs oversight. I could have chosen to just play ships that I like instead, but like most people I do not have limitless amounts of time, if I need credits I should try to earn them efficiently, and when you own Missouri you play Missouri, or you accept that you are earning credits slower than you could be.

My feelings towards Missouri are exactly as WG have described in the article.

I hate Missouri. I do not like playing her, even my stats with her reveal the lack of care and enthusiasm that resulted from me mindlessly playing her over and over, half playing WoWS, half watching TV, just to grind credits, so she is my most played ship and I've played her far more than I would have ever intended. Thankfully it has been a long time since I needed to grind credits so badly that I have felt compelled to play her, and for that I am grateful.

I'm currious.

Are WG hoping that sales of Missouri, counter the loss of players when Submarines arrive ?

Now I was pissed when WG withdrew the Missouri, not because I couldn't get hold of a sship with over the top earning potential, but because I lost out on a chance to own one of the most famous ships in the world.

If it had been some poxy russian paper ship, my garden would have been bare of (well you know what)

Typically peple suffered because wargaming screwed up.

When I saw  Missouri I didn't give ( look the gardens still bare) that it had nerfed earnings, it was available again.

Then I saw submarines. introduced in..and closed my wallet again.

so while one person withdrwing support from the game isn't going to cause wargming garden togrow, I can't help but think Mussuri is out only to try mitigate the damage submarines, (which of course will screw the balance of the game worse than carrierrs,) introduction will do  to earnings nd player base.

Nothing much will change for those, who grinded their Free XP to purchase Missouri basically for free. Thanks to that mission their income from the battles should be the same in average. But this combat mission will respect also the fact, how credit income through multipliers is calculated.

You still have not answered my question is it greed from WGs side since they put the mighty MO up for sale and please dont come with the answer that WG just want more people to have it because they have cried out for it. And knowing WG now that mission will disappear within the next year because WG does not want people to earn to much ingame credits they want people to go out in the prem-shop to buy them @YabbaCoe

ooooof... taking me back to Legendary upgrade missions....
Why the missions...? Why not just do a new permanent camouflage that adds the credit multiplier instead of a mission, that might not work or suddenly removed.....

@YabbaCoe

1- Will there be any other ship as a reward while grinding VIII De Zeven Provinciën at dockyard?

2- Will there be a single button commander skill reset?

3- Will there be T7 and T9 ships in ranked qualifications?

Thanks in advance.

1) There was a premium ship container on PT, but until those rewards will be officially announced for live server, I can't say, if it will be there, or not. So to answer, probably.

2) Most likely yes. More info will be announced on all those closer to release of the update to live server.

3) Too soon to answer this one yet.

Yes the credit income will be nerfed... but they forgot to BUFF the damage control party like on all other _US BB, and to increase the radar range which is now 9 km vs 10 km of Constellation a tier VIII BB.

GG WOWs then you get surprised when people dont trust you!

Instead of something like limiting cv attacking range to bring the aspect of World of Warships or translated ship vs ship battles back to the game and limiting flight time of plays so they cant keep bad aa ships all the time open they prefer to bring Credit nerfs because missouri has such a bad credit rate....lol
