WG lower down win rate to make us play more in ranked.

Background: I'm an average player with ranked WR 51% in gold league, and I'm now 1 token away from a camo. My smalland WR was 55%

This sprint, I've lost 190 out of 200 games in small and this week, and stopped around rank 3. I don't believe that it's my problem to lose 19 games then win another everyday. You'll laugh when checking the WR of your teammates afterwards. For example 4 silver league guys on my side and hurricane tags in the red team.  The only  reason is that WG wants us to play more in this way. Do you guys feel the same? A good way to demotivate us to play the game!

I doubt that you had a 5% winrating in 200 matches.

that's what I meant: it's NOT NORMAL for a WR 51% guys constantly has a WR of 5% right before he can rank out. The only reason to me is that WG wants me to play more ranked, which is a very demotivating way!

The fun thing about win rate is that for every battle you lose, someone else has to win by definition.

So unless you are saying that wargaming has a personal grudge against you specifically, your suggestion makes no sense at all, them messing with individual players winrates would have no effect on ranked battles played.

untrue. I mentioned clearly the ranked win rate, see above. My ranked WR was 55% but this sprint it's less than 10%, not normal at all

which would mean that on average, some other bloke got 90% winrate and nothing has been achieved either way

there are 7 winners and 7 losers every match, it doesnt matter at all to wargaming which team wins

i was advancing with a  72 % wr steadily this season.

And in the span of 2 days that got demolished to 60% again.

Just because the first day i lost 8 out of 10 and the second i just played 20 games with a 48 % wr.

and i played good  high kd and damage  and  i never played passive.

But both those days i already knew it was not gonna happen and i should have quit at 3 games in.

it might have been some special holiday or something or some random couple of days where the players where just worse.

But i dont think WG Rigged the matches (even tho it felt that way with the horrid dd's i got)

It just happens. I played at first, rocketed up to T7, then lost 6 or 7 straight and fell back to T10. Lots of speshul players out there. The 42% Shokaku was a real pleasure, but getting a stream of 40% players in DDs was what really did it.

WG wants you to press "battle".

just don't give them that satisfaction!

That is not the issue here.

Have you read that book, Pete, or any of the books which reference it?

It's very relevant, especially the bits about how players can be coralled into continuing to play even when they are no longer enjoying the experience (or in the case of gambling, when they can no longer rationally afford to do so). You'll see many of the techniques in the book being used by games such as WoWs.

The problem with Ranked is that it feels more Random than Random matches do. I'm expect there's some probability equation to explain it, based on the number of competent players in a team required to win and the possibility of drawing that number of players if the team size is smaller than 12.

Nobody forces you to press the battle button. Play the game for fun and if it's not fun, play or do something else.

It might be relevant, but not for his problem.

He is seeing a 5% winrate over 200 matches, while having a much higher winrate. That is his issue.

You should pick up a copy, too. It puts a few free will myths to bed.

No thanks. In this case: 8Ignorance is bliss. If you feel you need to play the game, it's time to take a good hard look in the mirror. Games should be a way of entertainment and time passage. That's it. If it's anything else for you, then it's probably unhealthy.

That's the frustration of Ranked. The goal *should* be in reach but the sprint format means you've got a short window.  When you get on a bad run, there's a tendency (encouraged by the game, short season window, sunk-effort fallacy and all that) to try harder and try more - instead of taking a break, people get angry, frustrated, they try new ships which maybe aren't their strengths. If you're frustrated and you find yourself taking out a DD or CV (even though you're a BB main) because you keep getting team-mates who are useless, then that's probably going to end in more failure and frustration.

No. That is ignorance of reality. He won over fourtimes as much matches than he claimed he won in 200 matches, in around 100 battles. Basicly he won eigthtimes more than he thought...

Good that we had you on hand to count. Still, to stay with the important bit,  the OP does seem to be banging his head against a brick wall and seems quite frustrated. it's not WG fixing the MM, though, it's just Ranked and what it does to people .

Without ignorance of reality, he would have come to the same conclusion.

Ok unpopular opinion here

But I think there is no point in getting demotivated over a game, or losing your cool

I think that anger leads to losing games, becoz you care less and less

So I think the best thing is to have patience, carry on and try to play around your teammates actions than depending on them.

After all, ranking out gives you rank 1, not the team you played with.

Maybe Smaland just isn't a ship that fits your playstyle?

I ranked out in smaland many times dude, with a previous WR of 55%, so I'm pretty sure this time WG did something (last 4 days  WR around 10%), right before I can get the last token, just to keep me in the ranked lol
