How is your "Community Tokens" gathering and how will you be spending them on?

With "Public Test" I recon that I will have around 7.500 "Community Tokens" available but I am still unsure how to spend them...

 

Also, I think that we still don't know whether 7.500+ "Community Tokens" are possible to be obtained for each update -> that would mean hefty 90.000+ "Community Tokens" per year...

 

 

So... what do you think guys?

I buy regularly the biggest crate for me and my top recruit.

Lucky you. Wg was kind enough to unbind all of the active ones from my account and only left the ones that don't play the game anymore.

My CT income is 750 weekly tokens from Twitch and another 800-1100 from my recruits ( depending on their activity). So on average 1700 a week. With like an occasional extra tokens thrown in like the 200 CT you received from the last news update. I refuse to bother with public test although I could earn 600 tokens for playing a few coop games….

 

Spend a good 5500 ish for the 2 most expensive recruitment crates  ( one for me, one for recruit) but their drops were very disappointing. Currently at 4000 so another month to reach the next target for the T5 premium crate which will give me 4K doubloons ( since I have all possible T5 drops).

 

I will focus on those T5 crates from now on. So that 4K free Doubloons every 7 weeks. That’s at least 28k doubloons a year (+ another 2k (from several 100 and 50 small rewards like the monthly activity rewards) and a few thousand from SC).

 

So free dockyard events + event crates and some low tier ships with the once-half-a-year discount coupon.

 

So Wows became FTP without locking yourself out from events.

I think the T5 version is more suitable. For 1/3 of the tokens you get 1/2 the doubloons. ( 8.500 for 30k TK vs 4K doubloons for just 10k).

 

And a lot of the T5 ships can be bought for coal. Eliminating them from the pool. Although you can still do that with the Blysk at T7 too. And there are some real cheap T5’s that can be bought.

 

And i you want T7 it’s better too have 3x 4K doubloons since that 12k can buy you directly any T7 you want ( BB being around 10k and cruisers and DD’s even cheaper.)

 

So imo T5 crates are way better then their T7 counterparts. With the T7 crate only usage would be the moment you have all T7 except the Poltava and you want that ship..

Yep... I decided to go with "Tier V"... I only need "Siroco" and can start gathering Doubloons in matter of weeks...

For me its gonna be the t5 containers, it's for now gonna bring a steady influx of doubloons - but given its WG I cannot not see, that what I recognize as a giant size loophole will be shut firmly within the foreseeable future.

WG should have no interests in us amassing loads of doubloons "just by playing the game" I could be wrong, but I doubt it....

I also decided to go with "Tier V"... I only need "Siroco" and can start gathering Doubloons in matter of weeks...

 

As for "loophole"... I hope they "turn the blind eye"...

I was wondering too because this might inflict some serious income loss for WG. But for now the number of crates are not yet limited to a max number.

 

I could see WG changing the tiers after a while ( like removing the T5 for another tier if too many players have filled their T5 fodder and are all going for that 4K). Maybe that’s why they are introducing the T2/T4 crates as announced earlier. ( who might give only credits for duplicates or a real low value doubloon) Or change it for T8 that requires even more TK. Only a few will have all T8’s and it will take a while to collect the TK to get one.

I tried few of the cheapest boxes just to see what they drop but wasnt really thrilled, I reckon I will take some of the duch stuff next patch and work towards prem ship crates in the long run

Everything is very expensive in the armory if you don't want to gamble, so I guess I will aim to get Katori for collection purpose and call it a day ...

I do ignore them mostly thanks to the Twitch missions having prerequisites that go contrary to my current grind. With limited game time, I don't have the luxury of playing what WG thinks I should be playing. I get them mostly from Twitch containers which is not much.

 

Once in month or so I check how many I have. I took the 1500CT container that dropped 500gold, so ok so far. Nothing much interest me in the available Armory store ....

I mean....it's next to impossible to recruit people unless they're your friends or your're a CC anyway.

Community tokens on paper is nice idea but WG butcher the rewards for PTS server for them

 

Dont expect stuff to stay that way and sooner or later they wont let you farm so easily doubloons which means Token amount given will go down by 50% and obviously the T7/5 ship you get will get you refund in credits and not doubloons

 

So farm them as faster you can guys

I have to say community tokens are a good idea and I believe it was Crysantos we have to thank for them. 
 

Unfortunately for me though of the baker’s dozen people I brought to the game only 1 didn’t quit after the CV rework, so I will never get enough tokens to get anything that good. Maybe a tier 5 container but I’m not all that worried I’m an older player and not of any interest to WG.

I'm not a whale to have many T5 or T7 premiums for doublons farming, so I intend to spend my tokens mostly for Seasoned containers. They seems to offer best value: 50x economic signals, 15x special signals, 10x camos and several VERY interesting looking premiums: Mutsu (big guns, torpedoes, nice for operations or coop) and Monaghan (I really want to have at least one USA premium on tier 5 or higher)

 

Also, I may be getting Veteran containers too, but they cost double and the value is not there, although several possible T8 looks good along with 30 days of premium...

 

Might save some tokens for permacamos too (New Yorck, Helena, Minsk) since I plan to play those lines and possibly regrind for RB. 

 

Just checked that I currently have 6000 tokens and will get 4500 more from previous test server. That's 7 Seasoned containers already

A currency which incentivizes not just playing the game and grinding harder, but watching videos, participating in testing, recruiting others, talking about, reading about and watching about the game. Great idea for WG, but I say "nope, no thanks". I somehow have 490 or so tokens and I don't expect I'll get more than that.

• watching videos ; 1,5 hrs for 650 out of 750 tokens.. for twitch that you can run in the background and only have to click "collect: afterwards.. yes sure,  tasking indeed.....
• Participating in testing : not my favorite ( not willing to install another wows copy) but still by playing 6 coop games ( not even winning) you can get an easy 600 tokens a  patch
• recruiting others: OK, would not do this activily now, but if you have them its no effort / free goodies
•  reading about and watching about the game : o boy the dread of reading the news in wows and even clicking the collect button for some free tokens.....

There are two things you are not realizing, even if at first glance you make good and valid points.

 

1. 5 victories in coop and 6 games on PTS and 1.5 hrs of video and 10 minutes of reading about the game. We're talking about... what. Two hours minimum, two and a half? I am glad (if) you have so much time to spend on parallel activities, but I do not. I'd rather play a few battles (or, lately, Banner Saga 2 *shrug*).

 

2. It's not about the time even. WG creates a cloud in which we stay. Playing the game, reading about it, thinking about it... not moving on. Not spending thought, time and, in the end it is hoped, money on other games. Clever. Buy I will not participate. I won't log in every day, play x rounds every week, watch y videos every week for... a tier 5 premium. Or a tier 7. Or some other trinket.
