Hi all,

The "Ones that got away"... Which ships (now unavailable) you miss and why?

I must say that I would like to have (in order):

  • "Black" (I was about to buy her for Steel when WG removed her with promise that it will be sold for less expensive commodity - that was long long time ago now and still nothing:Smile-angry:)
  • "Somers" (It was way too expensive, IMHO, when it was for Steel)
  • "Enterprise" (Although I don't play CVs in "Random" I wish that I was able to get her)

Nothing else comes to my mind right now... :Smile_hiding:

What about you guys?

Leo "Apollo11"

Two years ago i whaled Xmas crates ( with rather good rng) until I only missed the T8 UK CV ( which i did not care for But still got a year afterwards…) a coal T9 ( which I got for free after collecting the coal) and 2 of the T5 Kamikaze clones. I decided to stop spending money there…

The latter ones( the kamikaze clones)  will not come back in 2022 Xmas crate fest. So I might miss them.

Also failed to get the Sommers and the T10 pan EU dd. Did not have the currency available.

But stopped whaling and stopped having the urge to own all ships. I have my top 5/10 favorite premium ships and the rest are just snowflake duty. No need to expand that. Although any premium ships getting thrown in my lap for free is welcome :Smile_coin:

Just too many ships to play them all, so all we're doing is hoarding things we''ll likely hardly ever play. I'm wouldn't mind shelling out cash for a standalone expansion / historical campaign or something that we can play cooperatively with others, or not - It wouldn't be hard for them to do, surely. Give it a unique ship or two as a reward along with a few other goodies and they'll make some serious dosh, while we have fun playing it.

Kamikaze, definitely.

Second place: Kutuzov

Third: Belfast

although i have plenty of filthy ships to make up for missing those

Ships that im happiest about to have (for the rare ones), on the other hand

Missouri

Benham

Flint* (god its been nerfed tho, still a monster in ranked

Enterprise (again, nerfed quite a bit tho)

If you haven't had something how can you miss something?

To miss it means that you have had experience of something that is gone....

I've never eaten a Witchetty Grub so how can I miss it?

Probably Benham, although I suspect I'd hardly play her. And Belfast, that I would only play in ranked if I could be arsed with that mode (which is not very frequently)

Enterprise I don't have but I'm a sh$tty CV player so nothing lost there.

All the other usual suspects I have.

Leo means which ships we "missed out on" ofc.

For me it would just be Black and Somers, which I both didn't buy even with 50k steel in the bank, as they simply didn't interest me that much.

1. Jean Bart

2. Benham

3. Smaland

4. Black

5. Somers

6. Enterprise

Was about to get JB when it was removed

Love DDs but was on a break when Benham was available, for Smaland just about had the 2mil fxp but missed out when she was removed. Never been close to having the Black or Somers.

As for Enterprise, preferred RTS CV, not really into the CV gameplay now (though it is nicer looking seeing the aircraft), so not as fussed.

Although to be fair, I hardly play anymore and haven't touched a random battle really since the CV rework which is a shame. Sound like an old codger but I preferred the state of the game earlier in it's development.

You can miss opportunity to get something though. Which is probably the case.

As for ships I "miss"... well, sacrifice of any historical ship, especially ones preserved as museums on spreadshiet altar is annoying. And given its not one off case of WG screwing up balancing, it must be deliberate act.

Kronshtadt and Jean Bart, for sure. Kronshtadt because I really like T9 supercruisers and that's the only one I'm missing (until Carnot comes out, that is), and Jean Bart because that's again this playstyle with a fast ship with big, but not enormous guns, only this time from the side of BBs. Oh well, guess I'll content myself with the big sisters Bourgogne and Stalingrad...

Honestly, just Belfast.  Partly as she used to be on my commute to work and seeing her taunting me every day, and then my friends had her, and having to join the division in a Fiji..

Also she looked like a fun ship, who was allegedly not as strong anymore as she was.

Side note: the one I thought I'd miss if I didn't get her (sims) was nerfed after beta rendering her barely playable.

Fubuki. That thing did it all. Excellent IJN guns, 15 km torps.

Tier 8 Fubuki was great, agreed. For me, tier 9 Baltimore would be another one of those, as well as tier 7 Kiev.
