WG please give a tool to watch (older) Replays

The new patch killed Replays again. I cant view replays from older versions. 

Would it be so hard to make a replay tool that works for all Versions?

There is no money in it so WG doesn't care. Because customer satisfaction is for losers and companies who aren't predatory.

They put the rework of the replays on their To-Do list 3 years ago...

 

Apart from the rework of some controls, nothing really changed.

Makes me wonder what the Customers-Support is using.... besides a copy-paste word-doc that is.

why do you expect CS to watch replays ? they don't ... it's just another hurdle you need to climb and an excuse for them to close your ticket if you cannot provide a replay ...

Maybe it's not the answer you're looking for, but if you upload them to https://replayswows.com/ the "best" replays (I'm not sure who or what makes the determination: could be a human, could be an algorithm for all I know) will be uploaded to Youtube, where you should be able to watch them many patches later.

 

From my experience, about 50% of the replays I upload make it to Youtube.

 

For instance: my 1st upload was my 1st ever Solo Warrior game, from patch 0.8.10, and it's still visible (pls don't hate me for playing CV )

It wont cut it for me tho. Sometimes I want to replay a particular bad match, just to show how bad I was or how hilarious out of position my team was.

Not sure if it's still possible but at least in the past it was possible to copy the old game client before an update and use that one to watch the replay. But I don't know if that still works since they changed the update system.

Not really a nice solution but at least it worked back then.

Thanks for the Tip. That would mean you have multiple versions of WoWs installed? 

I dont think I will nor can do that since HD space is running low lately.

Steam version of WoWS keeps some of the older clients, however running those old copies appears to re-exec the current version.

So what might be nice is a tool that converts an old replay to the current version's format. Even a command-line utility would do.

The non-Steam version does it too, I mean keeping the previous patch from the game. It's been doing it since at least the WGC becoming compulsory, which is when I noticed the change (I didn't leave the stand-alone client until then).

 

However, it only works for exactly the previous version: since I have copies from quite the number of patches, I've tried copying a couple of them (0.9.10 and 0.10.3, i.e. an old one and two patches ago) to the current /bin folder and run any of their respective replays to no avail. In both cases an error occurred saying they can't find the right paths and/or resources there. I've done no other experiments but my guess is it's going to be a headache figuring out how to make it work, if possible at all. Which means that keeping the non-stand-alone versions might be a waste of disk space (and I currently have 2.4 TB dedicated to that, but space isn't a concern of mine), unless some kind of workaround can be found.

so its odd that I cant play any older replays (and speaking from the day before yesterday). Since I did the update my Typ20 camo that I bought was gone - I did a ticket the answer was:

Since I did not shot a screenshot of the GK with the camo - (why should I in first place) I thougt I replay a battle and use that footage to get a screenshot...NOW after the  update the replay is not compatibel to the new client...Exactly that was also my reply to the support. I uploaded the replay as an attachment in my ticket...Now I am waiting to see what they will come up to. My problem is also if thats a bug...what avoids it from happening again...its ridiculous. realy.

I lost all hope with this a long time ago, so what I do is I record my games live with the program "Outplayed", it's very easy, super nice and very customable, I have it set to record all my games and at the end of day I just go to the folder and delete the ones I don't want and keep the good ones or whatever... then I will upload them to youtube so I can keep them forever, I guess. I don't remember in what format is recorded but they can be played in the standard windows media player so I guess is nothing fancy. You can choose all kinds of quality and resolution too... it's nice, try it.
