Italian battleships worth the grind?

Tier 10 is excellent and worth the grind; it is the only BB at tier 10 that can still kinda brawl. 16 guns, goodish front angled armour and the special 360 rotation means you can push in quite effectively.
The fuel smoke also helps in this regard. Just be mindful of when to use SAP and AP. 
Use AP when you feel sure you can get citadels; like a full broadside BB under 15km, or a full side cruiser. Otherwise, stick to SAP, it is more consistent. 
A few crucial details'; the SAP can citadel a smolensk, so no need to swap. 
The SAP cannot penetrate russian or German BB upper belts, so when shooting them, either switch to AP on their sides, or make sure the SAP goes in the the superstructure, otherwise you will richochet.

I'm at T7 now and it's another somewhat underwhelming ship in the line. I am still consistently missing broadside targets at around 12km due to the awful dispersion. SAP is extremely inconsistent and I find I'm better off using AP. Range isn't great and this is emphasized when it's uptiered into T9 - where there are a great deal of fantastic if not best-in-class ships these days. I'm really not impressed at all with the line so far and stats reinforce my dislike because they show nearly all ships in the line are performing at a mediocre degree.

I sat with the same conclusion when I was grinding through tier 7.

Good news is that tier 8 is much better, it's not the best tier 8 battleship in the game, but it's good (and much better than what you have to suffer through at tier 7).

Tier 9 is atm my favourite tier 9 battleships (and I have most of them), it's fun and powerful.

Tier 10 I only have about 20 games so far, but first impression is good.

Tier 7 was meh, 8 was good, 9 was a lot better and finally T10 is one of the best BBs in the game, just pure fun.
