PSA: WG now deciding which ship can be nerfed on a whim

Hello Captains,

 

If you have not noticed, WG announced that the Kirov is now subject to future changes: https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/sales-and-events/premium-shop-0103-festive-bundles/

This basically means that they can now decide that ANY premium or other ship can be changed as long as they do a new availability campaign for it. The Kirov was changed to a premium with the Russian cruiser line split and many of us got it that way. Now it was announced that the ship can be changed simply because WG has added a new availability campaign for it.

 

Now imagine they will announce an event (Dockyard, Campaign, whatever) for some other premium ship and state the same sentence in the footnotes (Alaska as example ??).

 

For myself, I won't ever buy a premium for money again.

this is not new news, check the last like 10 premiums all have that disclaimer. also kirov is a old tech three ship so who cares ?

Just dont buy prem ship for cash. Use resource ships or dooblons for free from game, but do not invest cash in wg. simple.

Stalingrad (twice in a row), Thunderer, Smolensk, Ohio (with the secondary battery rework) and other premiums ship have been nerfed...so..not surprised!

Isn't the thing also available for coal? So you're complaining about an old tech tree ship, that every got for free, can get for free a second time and can get it with coal being nerfable.....I mean...c'mon.

You would think that people would be happy, honestly, that they are prepared to apply balance fixes even to prems or whatever if need be, and not just silver ships. 

WG has pushed a lot of crappy decisions, but this isn't one of them.

WG introduces the ship well, then you buy it, then they trash the ship with the excuse of a change in balance, then they take out another ship and make you buy it again and turn it into garbage again.

That's exactly the point I was trying to make. I got mine the same way, there was no warning attached ...

Well, when i got mine, it was subject to nerfs and buffs, so where does that leave us?

I mean, i got it as a techtree ship, and techtree ships could always get buffed/nerfed without any extra warning.

 

WG should just say, that ships, which are only obtainable with ingame resources (so no direct cash or doubloons) are subject to change - case closed. Btw was Kirov even in sale before this? That might be the reason for the disclaimer.

Or introduce oh so slightly balans new premium, conveniently of the same tier as new Ranked/CB season, let it earn money and salt, only to nerf it once "enough data is collected", preferably once mentioned Ranked/CB ends

The uncertainity is this:

 

We have 2 classes of "premium" ships: 1. full gold icon, 2. Gold/silver icon. The first one are the "original" premiums. Those were never subject to nerfs. The second one are "special" ships like Stalingrad etc, that were available for ingame resources and actually were never treated as full premiums by WG (nerf armor).

 

Kirov has the "premium" icon. Yes it was a techtree ship and was never available for doubloons as far as I can recall. However if you compare Kirov and Moskva, those ships got the exact same treatment but have different icons. Neither has the warning in Armory.

 

Where I am getting at: HOW can we trust a ship will not be nerfed when we buy it with cash when WG can decide to throw them into Armory for coal (Aigle, Blyska, Anshan as examples), and later slap the nerf label on them when convenient ?

 

WG needs to state a clear policy somewhere for us to read and stick to it ....

Thats why i was wondering, if Kirov was in the shop prior to this? If it wasnt, id personaly be fine with it. Because then it was like this:

- Techtree ship: Always subject to change

- Coal ship only: I guess technically subject to change, same as any other ship only available for coal/steel, but usually it was restricted to TX ships

- Now available for cash: So they added the disclaimer that its subject to change

To me, that would be ok. If it was available for money prior to this, then its not ok.

The problem is, that they still will release OP crap, but now they have excuse to "balance them later".

They should balance everything we have rigjt now and not release new OP crap, i would be ok with that.

But selling even temporary powercreep makes alot of money...
