14 Days of Premium Account as a Gift!

I'm often very critical of WG's motives and business practices, they are often distasteful and like the rigged Xmas crates sail close to being out right illegal. 

 

BUT, there's always a BUT, credit where credit is due 14 days FREE premium for the whole community with no attached missions or other criteria is very much welcomed and appreciated.

 

I'm sure there are reasons beyond simply lets be generous to the community like boosting numbers in a quiet period or player downturn and extra players playing means some of them will spend real money. But it's still extremely generous. I have not played since the introduction of the German dd's and will probably take advantage of the 14 days FREE premium time to come back and play for a while. So mission accomplished by WG, more players will be using the servers and they gain some much needed goodwill points. While us, the players gain 14 days FREE premium time.

Thank you for that. It wasn't meant to promote purchases of premium, but if somebody decide to have those advantages of premium account for longer time, better for him/her and also for us

Just to make sure: the dates indicated in the post (1-15 May) are the dates when you can activate the gift, right? In other words, if I wait until 15 May, I won't only get 1 day of premium, I will still get the full 14 days, right?

I find it fairly amusing that WG have managed to create a situation that has left their paying customers with such a level of distrust, that when they give out a completely free gift of 14 days premium time the customer responses range from:

Thanks for the gift, but I feel like you're going to take it away - so can you confirm if the time it's available for is a start date for the 2 weeks of premium, or if the time period the total time the gift will be active and premium time runs out on the 15th.

I don't even want your gift because you changed the game and made it no fun for me - because XP and winning *your* way is not what makes me want to play your game.

In my own case, my level of distrust is at:

 

Don't try to bribe me. I'm not interested in risking screwing over my account by returning early and applying some captian skills, only to find WG later decide to make more changes to thier untested and ill concieved rework - costing me dubs and $$$ to reset (we know what you're up to WG). For a poultry bribe of 14 days premium time.

 

Irelevant of whether my position is correct (I mean in the sense that I actually think that WG are trying to screw money out of players with decietful practices) or not - it should be raising some red flags to a company when it's customers have such a negative feeling towards them. Yet WG still think everything is hunky dory with thier player base, and no doubt someone will ba along in a moment to smooth things over and assure us that evrything is proceeding acording to plan etc..

 

Maybe a glance up from the spreadsheet once in a while would help your development team to produce a better player experience, and your customer relations team to understand what the playerbase want - rather than what the bean counters would like..

Nice we get 14 day prem ... it wont offset the disaster your captain rework made but it is still something positive for a change. Gratz for making the 1st good move since the notorious mistakes of CV & Captain rework.

 

PS: Please DO NOT ADD SUBS, you fail to balance even 4 ship class, you are as likely to make subs a good addition to the game as Czech Republic is likely to build a fleet rivaling the US Navy :P

It works in a way, that 14days of premium are added to your account as soon as you click the button, regardless if you done that on 1st May or you will do it on 14th.

For example, I did clicked the button and received those 14 days, even though it is 3rd May already.
