Unsportsmenlike behaviour problem (edited*)

Hi guys.

I am not here to stat/name shame a player but to argue/vent/point out an issue.
We all know CV's are not remotely balanced. I play them occasionally, and I try to focus on the team-aspect that they should be providing (like dropping fighters for teammates, it really isn't that hard).
But, just earlier tonight we had a streak of games where we had CV's that were dropping clusters of fighters around THEMSELVES even without being threatened, spotted or anything, and refusing to

help with AA or spot the dds (literally 4-5 games went exactly like this). Even a game with a unicum in CV in our team the guy just kept dropping battleships on his flank while enemy dd's had a party
on the other and simply folded the flank and took the game over with a slaughter. NOT.ONE.FIGHTER. NOT.EVEN.ONCE.DD.SPOTTING.

Anyways, I digress,  so back to the subject.

After all of this, we get into a battle (division of 3 + 1 more clan mate playing a different ship-class on count-down so he could maybe join us in same game - yay, we got lucky, we were in same team)...
But then I notice the blacklisted Hakuryu in our team. You're guessing right, it's edited*. I tell my clanmates we need to try and make some sort of grouping, as our CV will suicide within minutes. As he does, by sailing

edit: no naming and shaming please

into center of the map. As he has done every single game I have ever seen him play, and most of the enemy team too. We warned our team, one of the dds even tried to smoke him up, to no avail.
Even enemy team is saying sorry for that in all-chat as apparently they consider him a legend in the community.

That same player I have repeatedly made tickets, not just for this behaviour, but for also insults and spam during games and even he contacted me in port (now he's on blacklist), with name calling, family/racist insults and what not.
To all these tickets the "support" reassured me that steps have been taken and penalty was issued, but that they can't disclose the details, you know, because of the rules. These tickets and ingame reports were made over months back and probably even longer...
This battle was the end of the evening for me and the clanmates, as one has rage quit, the other one just said "I have no will to play after this and then chatted with us for a couple minutes before going offline. They were all baffled that this guy is still allowed to behave like this and still go unpunished. I mean, I've lost my patience a few times and shot teammates, and it resulted in bans. This is so much worse as he is literally griefing 11 other players and denying them almost all hope of winning the game.

My question to you guys and hopefully some of the staff of this popular company we all know as WG is:
Is there any hope of actually having this behaviour and players behind it being taken out of the game?

Again, this is not to stat-shame, ridicule or in any other way denigrate the player. We ALL know him and we've all, or most of us, been beaten by the crap end of the stick that is being in team with him and the likes of him. This is an honest question, issue and an example of why the game really has no progress in either community or the player base having an actual interest in improving themselves when they see stuff like this happening and having their will to play beaten out of them. I created another ticket after this battle, with replay and screenshots. I don't hope for anything. 11 people have tried pinging, chatting to him to back off, not even insulting tone was used, albeit appearing that it was a bit of spam as people panicked seeing the pinnacle of the team's power being thrown into fire in the first minutes of game. 10-15 minutes of misery for the rest of us, as we have no hope of fighting back.

We (actually, I) managed to kill 2 of the enemies, and the battle even seemed somewhat close at some points but the team was dying 1 by 1 as the FDR was just free to fly over and take his pickings. The worst part of all this is, that as clan commander I have promised to try and watch my clanmates as they play and help them improve by commenting and advising them about their flaws, mistakes and habits - telling them that their actions have direct impact on games, and not giving up when it's difficult, and how important it is for them to focus on their own play, rather than looking at mistakes and crappy behaviour of teammates. And then this stuff happens. How am I supposed to have credibility and sort of authority/reputation, especially after I told them that this is not even remotely an isolated incident with a player like this and that we're probably not gonna win, right after I saw the team line-ups?

the irony in all this is, one of the guys just as we started divisions, posted this Jingles video:

Reporting him to support is all you can do. Make sure to pick the "rigged battle" option and not anything else.

I've reported him plenty of times myself. At best he'll get a ban that lasts for at most a week or two which is the absolute best you can hope for. WG has absolutely no interest in perma banning griefers like him.

There is at least one way to avoid edit* being on your team - and that is by playing CVs yourself.

edit: no name & shame please

IF only he was a streamer to snipe his queue...Though, everyone would join queues as CV then.
2 weeks at most? No permabans?

We have bot clans, griefers, serial afk'ers, infantile tk'ers, scum of every kind possible, and a company twiddling their thumbs if they are not busy counting money or copy-pasting new "content" into the game. I doubt that a single CV "player" will ever be banned - because of the classes "(un)popularity".

That would be a solution but CV:s are not for everyone

Myself as an example: I am totally useless in CV:s so there no point in completely ruining my teams chances of winning

CV:s ruin the game in two ways, either by being a decent CV on enemy team or a useless CV on friendly team

WG likes griefers, AFKers, suiciders, bots, and TKers. They make games go more quickly. Therefore they will do nothing.

Little coding in the way MM working, that to do not  enter in same team with a blacklisted player... could be that hard to do...?

Yes, blacklisting all under 50% wr players should work just fine:cap_haloween:

I have got quite used to having battles where my ‘friendly’ CV usually does one single fly over the enemy team to get some XP then go AFK, although I always submit the replay to support in the forlorn hope it might do some good.

The sad reality is there are people who keep doing this or suicide as in the OPs example and they are actually known to do it regularly and yet WG lets them carry on.

Speaking only out of self experience, no and i think perma ban is very rare. Even a player (whose IGN i won't write here but most old timers would know) that got caught with aimassist like 5-6 years ago didn't get perma ban or even the players that were detected changing accounts and gathering steel for each other or leveling up ships only got banned from certain competitive modes. Hence, although such players you posted are more toxic to the game than anything else, WG looks at them like 'that's not nice but hey, it's his freedom to play however he wants".

This (.......) was in our team 2 nights ago. Warned him many times not to charge and die but the only response i got was a curse on the chat window. Definitely not a bot and did all those on purpose. Whole team was furious and reported him and we lost the game.

Hello. Well, reporting this as unsportsmanlike behaviour to Customer Support is basically the only way how to get those players punished. I even saw gamebans for such a behaviour.

So can you please write me number of that ticket? I will take a look on what exactly happened. Also in your tickets, do you include replays?

Secondly, please remove his nickname from the name of this thread, as well from your post. This can be understood as naming-shaming (though I understand, you want to address the one, who is doing this bad behaviour, but please always don't use exact names and nicknames.)

While reported to Customer Support, they always deal with that and apply punishment, when there is a proof, that rules were violated.

So will you investigate how Customer Support messed this one up? Or does WG feel that this is normal behaviour and should not warrant an account ban? It's not like this is a one time occurance for this player.

Or do your Customer Support agents only look at one ticket and never the global picture in such a case. I know they dont for chat bans, so why not for this type of behaviour?

I understand there can be a smudged line between something being recognised as grefing or fixing match results and honest mistakes in some cases but if CS recieves a report and sees evidence in it of such behaviour at least the player in question should be put on some kind of a list to obetve them more closely and recieve an ingame message from WG about it and should multiple such observances be seen it should result in pregressively longer bans on all PvP modes same as if they AFK/TK too much...

there is a easy solution. since he has been doing this over and over again, give him an orange status for like 500 games. and if he does this after 500 battles again, give him another 800.

why does it take so long to take an action about such issues? if we type "d.mb" in chat, we instantly get chatban. but this guy is able to rig battle after battle.

I mean he cant remove the name from the video anyway and its viral either way thx to Jingles. Besides that, "players" like that, imho, have lost all rights to be sheltered. I understand why you are writing this but yea, in my book - hang em and hang em high. Which brings me to:

Exactly. There is no excuse for what this guy is doing. And he isnt the only one. You see it in ranked quite often. Or what is the purpose of a cruiser popping speedboost, going stright for the B cap, then giving broadside and be gone right away?

Yes, I reported some of those players and yes, I can confirm you guys take actions, because I like to bookmark the wows-numbers profile of such players. Ive seen them not playing random games for exactly 14 days shortly after I send such reports so I assume they got 14 days banned - and then returned, usually doing again what they do.

Just IP ban them. Or lock their accounts for thousands of games into coop as suggested - eventhough they will even upset coop players there. These "players" activly destroy our game and your business aswell @YabbaCoe. People acting like the one in this case here are the single most biggest factor for me, why I dont want to play this game anymore. And when I dont play - I dont spend. Im for sure not the only one. And the more players, that actually care about winning and playing you drive away, the higher will be the ratio of decent players vs ... "that". Which will ruin more and more games and drive more and more players away.

So bottomline: its in all our interests, to remove these people from the game as quick as possible and as hard as possible.

Yes, I will take a look on that ticket. There is a possibility, that CS did their job, applied sanctions, but as usual, they can't never say which ban and how long the reported player was banned. Also there is a possibility, that due to human mistake CS did a mistake. Also there is a chance, that OP haven't created ticket, or didn't add proof of that. So there are plenty situations and I would like to investigate on that.

That is why I need the ticket ID, so I would be able to investigate further. But if somebody continues violating rules, also with unsportsmanlike behaviour, those bans are usually progresivelly longer.

Honestly, only if we would have such a option to issue "coop" only for those, who constantly violates the rules for same usportsmanlike behaviour. Just to be sure, we definitely can't gameban players for violating chat rules, only longer chatbans are possible there. But rigging battles is something different...

I am just saying, that technically, using exact nickname of another player without his knowledge is not allowed, so OP should be very careful with that.

I prefer at least monthly, WG to announce the list of players who got banned from the game for different durations.

I can understand, for temp bans our community may jump on these players after they get back into the game.

But at least WG can announce perma bans in names.. and other punishments in numbers.

like,

This month,

200 players banned 14 days from the game because of unfair mods,

12 players banned 2 months from the game bla bla bal..

and these are the names of the player who got perma banned from the game for these reasons..

etc

etc

etc

....

This will only strenghten the public respect and trust.. cannot have any negative consequences If you ask me..

agree on this one. But WG to do this, they need to take action first and punish such behaviours. I really dont believe that anyone ever got perma banned from wows.

I personally know 2 got permabanned from the game :) But I completely agree with your point.

@YabbaCoe
This is the reason I'm talking about exactly :) You cannot blame people when they cannot see the order enforcement :)
