Have you ever reset a ship line for RB points to buy a Legendary Upgrade?

I'm really curious if people actually reset ship lines to buy a LU in the RB. And if so, for what LU and have you done this for more than one LU? I haven't touched RB once ever since it was introduced, because i think the whole concept of the RB is just bad.

I voted the less vehement 'no', on the basis that I don't rule it out entirely ever ever ever; that said, with the current LUs it's a "hells, no!" - I don't think any of them are even close to worth the aggravation.

No, I reset lines before ( but only with 2* bonus) and have Ohio and currently 2k short for Slava with 3 lines currently at T8/T9. ( so 42k points left to gather). So guilty regarding resetting.

 

But around 20k for dubious LU? No F. way. Grinded some LU the old way and don’t consider them worthwhile to grind with RB. And these are Yamato’s, Zao and Moskwa LU which are considered to be among the better ones ( atleast before nerf). And those nerfs gave me enough warning not to invest into LU’s ever again.

 

Maybe one can decide to buy one LU from the initial 10k and then the 1200 you can earn each month. So without resetting any line one LU could be attainable. But even then other rewards are better... like the steel camo?

I powered through almost all of the old missions not to do that. The idea is dumber than an unfired brick.

Regrind a whole line with the x2 bonus for a so called side-grade that is just a nerf? LULZ.

As an RB regular (Poalo, Ohio, Siegfried and now enough for either Colbert or Vampire 2), and owning several LUs done the old way: never ever would I accumilate RB point for a LU. Not worth it.

I reset a line every 3 months for double points. Bought Ohio, am thinking about Vampire II. Am not ruling out that I might buy a LU at some point, but they don't look very attractive

Nope, won't reset any line for any Legendary Upgrade. Yet i'm still saving research points from daily missions for Yamato LU. 1800 more to go, so it's 4.5 x 400RP.

No i havent, i said i had. But i have reset 4 lines (US & RU CL& CA), used it for paolo and have a goodbit spare. If theres a good option for resetting i will get vampire II aswell.

Imo they should add a unique mission for tier X, like the previous legendary missions, to earn some RB point. Smaller mission, 5k points.

Most LUs are uninspiring so for 40% the cost of a brand new T10 ship they seem overpriced.

I enjoy the mid tiers, so I've even reset a few lines without the bonus, leaving them on the back-burner.

 

So far I've got the Emilio and Colbert, and I'm aiming at the Ohio next: I'd need to finish all my 4 current resets, plus one more with the bonus, which is a lot.

 

Very few LUs seem to be worth the effort, so I probably won't bother at that price.

If they were cheaper, like a lot cheaper, I would consider GK, Mino (going for pure smoke, but then again I am aiming at the Plymouth for steel...), Kleber (it sounds hilarious, and genuinely a different playstyle), Audacious, maybe Montana, Henri IV ("lighthouse build"), Wooster and perhaps Zao. The YY's would be interesting, if the Smaland weren't there...

 

However, as I said, doing all that grind just to get a -5% here and a +8% there seems really tedious.

I have the LU for the Yamato, but I much prefer the Shikishima (same accuracy, better DPM, better AA...), and I haven't tried the Hakuryu's yet, nor will I ever, most likely.

bruh i barely pushed that damn button with a shattered heart when i had to get the yolo emilio and seigfried. No way im resetting my progress for some bad gimmicks.

Depends on your preference on shiptype. I think from my BB/cruiser preference that the OHIO is the best ship currently available in RB.

 

Slava is way too dependable on your opponents to make angle mistakes and Colbert and Siegfried have been hit hard by the captain skill rework.   Yolo Emilio looks fun but can be hard countered if you are to eager in it to rush and torp and the enemy is not completely braindead.  Leaves Vampire II but is new and have not really have an opinion on her. And i am not much a dd player.

 

So from my pov Ohio is the most solid type of ship you can get from RB. Is it worth 2 resets? ( initial 10x + 2x 20400 + 7 months of dailies).   If you have the time and silver to spare you can get those 2 resets done largely done with 1 M FXP that normally can buy you a T9 (Friesland/Agir/Azuma).  So yes i think Ohio is one of the better "free" options that WG still offers us.

After what WG did to the Zao 'Unique' upgrade - not a chance.

 

And 'unique' is a far better way of describing these upgrades, not 'legendary'.

Since I missed the old missions I have reset lines for this reason. Got the Kurfurst, Hindy, Conqueror and Audacious mods this way.

I recently reset my Goliath so I could get the Unique Upgrade for the Kurfürst. 

 

I kinda regret it though. Don't think I'll do it again. Not in near future anyways.

I would not even consider resetting a line. You are throwing a way a lot of spent time and resources for nothing, because there is no direct reward for the resetting.

Yes , some LU can be really worth it, like the DM LU.
