Constant client freezes when entering battle

I have been getting an increasing number of client freezes after clicking the battle button. They occur right after the team line-ups are shown - the "Start Battle" button simply fails to appear.

They can only be resolved by terminating the client process via the Windows task manager and restarting the client.

They incur at the very least about 2.5 minutes of delay entering the battle on my machine.

Initially, I got the impression it mostly happened after the client had been idling a while on port. But currently, they happen even right after starting the client.

I'm not even gonna contact player support cause I still have a load of automated boilerplate and useless BS from last time clogging the system, thank you.

I also experienced that in WoWs v0.10.3 "Public Test" without any MOD installed - I even reported it!

 

 

I found out that I should NOT temporary exit out of WoWs with Alt-Tab whilst waiting for the battle to read forums... this helps...

Yesterday I also tried to play and had it. So I just gave up and left the game. Suddenly all my problems were solved.

Yes had similar experiences, it will work fine for 6 or 7 matches and then suddenly freezes on the battle loading screen.  This happened twice in a row and then all was well again.

I assumed it was possibly the new additions in Autospy's Minimap but shall see later today.

They want me to perform a clean boot!

OTOH the task-switching doesn't really seem to come into it in my (player) experience.

Had the same issue as u on this patch, i think it might be something with the mods.

I deleted all my mods, then reinstalled them, everything looks fine after.

Aslain mods, clear vision, fog remover, smart horizon dinamic crosshair, and the compass thing.

i have the same thing . very random . pretty annoying !

For me i can play ranked with no issues, all my regular mods, played 50 games with mods on 10.3. But as soon as i try any random game, i'm stuck on loading screen, having to use task manger to exit game.

Scenarios work mostly, had one game that it happened with.

I can only be quick and delete res_mods, to get the game to load. Got a penalty few days ago while trying to figure it out, as i had no problems with ranked all day until it closed.

 

Tried to narrow down which mod, but it's seemingly just a mod allergy from random games.

I removed score timer and played 7 games in a row without any problems. Then I turned it on and first game was a fail. Maybe this mod is a culprit ?

Been running it the past three days myself without any issue so I wouldn't be so sure.

As i understand You didn't have such problems, so It could be some conflict with other mods which manifests itself only for some people. For me with this mod every 2-3 game is a fail, without i have played already more then ten (6 ranked, 1 random and many coops) and so far so good.

client seems okay, played after months this week and didn't have probs (wit the client) game is in a weirder state than I left it though

I had the issue that the battle actually started, I could hear all the sounds, but the screen displayed the team lineups and there was no user-interaction possible anymore.

It might help to remove the folder of version 0.10.2 (WoWs folder -> bin -> 36xxx). I moved it on my desktop and had no problem afterwards. I could only test for one game, though.

Do You use Modstation or Aslain, becouse there is a very subtle difference between this mod version in those packs.

Aslains, the Modstation lacks a few (port) mods that I like to use.

Had this 3 times yesterday thought it was my end as I run a overclocked cpu and gpu, let's hope it gets fixed soon.

Alternatively to what I wrote before - if you have the problem please try the following:

1. close game

2. rename the file "preferences.xml" to "preferences.xm_" (found in the WoWs main folder, e.g. C:\Games\World_of_Warships; if extensions are hidden on your PC rename "preferences" to "preferences_old")

3. start game and play

 

Renaming the file causes WoWs to not see it anymore and it will create a new file "preferences.xml". It will, of course reset most of your ingame settings. You can always revert to your old settings by deleting the new preference file and undoing step 2.

 

Let us know how that works out for you.

I have had game freezing and I don't use any mods at all. Also, it is an issue that has also been present during my first "tour" of the game back in 2018. That, and game just randomly crashing, but latter issue has not appeared so far.

don't even bother to send tickets to support, they have 0 [edited]clue on how the game is working atm, no idea who put those ppl in support, i sent them a video showing the game with that "operation in progress" and they replied, oh hey there captain, it seems you don't have internet connection or some crap like that. 

so don't bother, worse [edited]so called "support" i ever seen

OK, of these I have been using all but the Smart Horizon crosshairs. Removing and testing them one by one.

Yep i had this too several times, each one crashing my whole computer and having to hard reboot it then it would crash again if i didnt repair the install. Also caused me to go pink more than once.

 

I also had mods installed but reinstalling them after verifying install was fine.
