Hi WG, please can you change the grease the gears skill back to what it was before the commander skills reset, so it is calculated on degree of movement and not speed %.

Thankyou for listening lol

Would be better they changed it to % of turning time, so that ships with slow turrets actually get something out of it.

Thats the issue with so many things in the game... WG giving %-based buffs, which only benefits ships being already strong in that departement in the first place. While other ships would desperately need the buff, but its practically useless for them.

Like the Swift in silence skill BBs will get. Slow BBs could actually benefit from that, but they gain like 2 kts. Even tho its way too expensive anyway.

No, you're wrong, because it is nearly the same:

Example: 10°/sec => 18 sec for 180°

1) 10°/sec * 1,2 = 12°/sec => 15 sec

2) 18 sec * 0,8 = 14,4 sec

better would be the old system with an absolute value:

1) 5°/sec => 36 sec for 180°

5°/sec + 2,5°/sec = 7,5°/sec => 24 sec (-12 sec = 33%)

2) 10°/sec + 2,5 °/sec = 12,5°/sec => 14,4 sec (-3,6 sec = 20%)

Slow turrets do not benefit from relative values but from absolute values.

But the problem is, this is not true for turret traverse:

Because if the initial turret traverse speed is already fast enough, you do not need the skill.

But if it is to slow, you do not gain enough speed to benefit from it.

Well atleast very slow turrets gained more before they changed it to %. And Cruisers/DDs also get less out of it than before. Essentially it got worse for everyone except BBs with faster turret traverse :cap_fainting: And while the difference is small, its still a benefit imo. Sure you can argue if its necessary for them in the first place, but it sure can be useful at times (Kremlin turning 180° in 25 secs - less than it takes to reload its guns...)

Swift in silence is in the same department of usefullness as outnumbered...

And as many other things that got changed, the new system is easier to understand but less effective.

Could make sense if it wouldnt be a 4pt skill :cap_haloween:

Wouldnt even take Outnumbered if its a 2pointer...

I would say 10°/s is very fast on anything but a DD and does not require the skill at all. But when you look at something like Yamato, it makes a difference and is even slightly better than the old expert marksman:

1) 3°/s *1.2 = 3.6°/s => 50 sec

2) 60 sec * 0.8 = 48 sec

3) 3°/s + 0.7°/s = 3.7°/s => 48.6 sec
