Love my Asashio, but I think with the proliferation of Heavy Cruisers like the Stalingrad, Petro etc should Deep Water torps should be able to damage them, thoughts??

No.

I find the boat just fine as is.

Edit: for a more catchy headline: Deep water torps need to damage cruisers, and here is why...

And then you add a vote to it as well, where people can vote on the topic.

Was saying that for ages. Today though, it no longer concerns me because CVs made me all but stop playing Tier VIII.

Why try and go torp against the fun police when muh Benham gets only half as many carrier battles.

I understand why you ask, but that would actually make Asashio MEGA OP and unbalanced. Right now Asashio is in a good balancing place that it can only torp BBs and CV. I still get a crap-ton of Krakens and even 2 Solo warriors in Asashio. If I could strike super cruisers as well it would become a Monster. (Watch below)

It doesn't matter what the people want. Even if 1 million player want a certain feature, it require only ONE person who makes game decisions at WG who doesn't like the idea, so it's off the table - as simple as that.

I tend to think 'no' as well, I'm afraid (and, last I checked, Asashio was still my most played ship); if we could hit cruisers with those torps, we'd be flat-out OP.

If you will permit me though, I shall allow myself a brief happy daydream of being able to blap 12 km radars with impunity though...

Status quo: Asashio is OP as it is and hardly anybody plays CA if they can avoid it, even regularly seeing 4 or 5 DD, 2 BB setups in clan battles

Suggestion: make Asashio magnitudes stronger vs CA

With all the balancing crap WG is pulling, inane ideas like this indicate how much worse it could be if WG listened more to certain parts of the player base.

Just to confirm, I am on about being able to hit the “Super Heavy Cruiser’s” not you every day cruiser and as most of the Super  Heavy Cruisers live in T9 - T10 area it would not make Asashio OP, I say this as most battles I play tend to be with T9/10.

Maybe, if it were *just* the superheavies (sucks to be AGS though, although if you're in a T8 match in her, that's probably the least of your worries), but even then I'd be uneasy - it would shift the balance quite dramatically (particularly being able to zap Alaska, and does Stal count too?)...

Bear in mind too that - in terms of overall balance - the superheavies just got a major boot to the metaphorical knackers with the recent loss of BB survival skills.

Yep, just the Super Heavy group, as for the kick in the gonads, that will shortly be reversed with the demise of Deadeye 😉

I am tempted to say yes.

I bought her recently for my alt-account, to train my IJN captain.

And I love the 20km torps. It essentially guarantees that I hit some random Schmuck 18km away.

If she could hit cruisers, she'd be OP indeed, even tho the DD main- part of myself really doesn't care.

She is simply a cursed ship for me, aim randomly and it is  a waste of torps, reload time is horrendous and she need Harekaze's 3 second gun reloads, there is always always way too many DD'd and cruisers in the way, I watch vids of people getting three kill sor more and huge amounts of damage, I may get 1 torp hit if I am lucky, getting so mad with it I am considering selling it.

That would have needed a "sad"-reaction, but sadly there is none :Smile_sad:

Super heavy cruisers should be reclassified as battlecruisers - can anyone really tell me that a Neptune and an Alaska can seriously be compared? A new classification would lead to fairer match making although I concede the wait might be slightly longer.

Well they could differentiate them and make a maximum of 1 per battle. Example if there is an Alaska and Stalingrad in one battle, one team cant get both.
