For everyone interrested, the Warhammer 40K ships are back in the shop and armory.

Sadly, no new ships tho.

If these only looked as cool as actual warhammer-ships.

Even the gothic-bismarck feels more warhammer-like. :fish_aqua:

The only reason to get them is for the voice lines, the Chaos one has some of the best voice lines in the game.

if they only sold these 3 point commanders separately ...

other then that €140 for 2 amagis seems pretty far stretched ...

As a matter of interest, are the notional differences between these things and the original Amagi noticeable?

The more important matter though: how entertaining are the captains' voice-overs?

I can't remember what the answer was from the first time around...

Has the Ragnarok got better with the skill rework, more secondary range, good secondary accuracy, dead eye etc?

Dunno, I'm looking at the wiki and posit the following:

Pros:

  • Trollish citadel protection, with surprisingly thick armor.
  • Massive ten 410mm gun broadside with enormous alpha-strike potential.
  • Good dispersion with 1.9 sigma. - Deadeye make this better?
  • Excellent AP penetration. - Deadeye useful
  • Good HE damage. - Deadeye useful
  • Super accurate secondaries. - they get better range with rework

Cons:

  • Weak belt armour, prone to taking penetration hits.
  • 33s reload on main battery. - you can speed this up with rework
  • Secondaries have a maximum of a 7.56km range. - they get better range with rework
  • Poor agility with a large, 870m turning circle radius and pedestrian 4º/s rate of turn.
  • Horrible AA firepower.
  • Horrible concealment - Maybe not deadeye then

The reload is the most noticeable thing performance wise.

I played them once on my main account, the Ragnarok several times on my alt, as it is one of two premiums I got from crates.

The best thing about these ships are the voice overs, with the imperial one being less...bloodthirsty, to put it that way.

The Ragnarok is entertaining tho..for a while. It is one of the best VAs in the game, however I like variety.

Has it changed with the rework please? Better / Worse?

I wish I could justify dropping 40ish euros on a voiceover. But I have the amagi with permacamo, so hard to see myself paying for a shittier amagi. Still, if you dont have the jap bb line, might be worth it, as Amagi is a very fun and very good ship.

Amagi doesn't really benefit from dead eye as much as other ships do, due to her concealment and range.

So she burns. She burns a awful lot. Especially in games with Conqus and Thunds.

So, it's worse.

I tried playing her ambush style, and it occasionally works, but once a CV is in game...eh.

Due to the rework, she is essentially a big cruiser, minus concealment, RoF and agility.

I like the Ignis Purgatio camo, but why an spear and not a warhammer?

Thanks, I'll give this a miss then, Ashitaka I hear is like an Amagi and I could take that into Ops for hilarity, maybe get a Mutsu for torp goodness in ops.

I'd prefer the Unsinkable Sam boxes and bundles.

Ashitaka has some of the amagi’s good sides (guns), all of the bad sides x2 (bad manouvrability, hideously bad concealment), and some new bad sides added on top (fragile, easy to citadel, essentially no AA). Original Amagi is a good, balanced mid ranger/brawler at t8. Ashitaka is a one trick pony at t7.

Yeah, and it's not like you could immediately jump into playing secondaries purgatio/ragnarok since the commanders come so low level.

FWIW Ashitaka with Kobayasahi permaflage, whilst expensive, is a highly effective earner in Narai...

Thanks for the heads up, but not impressed enough with the Raggy as compared with my Amagi to get the Ingnis, sadly.
