Will stalingrad's sigma be nerfed from 2.65 to 2.25?
wowsfitting tool has stalingrad2 and sigma 2.25

Well the commander skill change achieved that, though I think it's only a slight nerf.

Stalingrad’s accurate guns is literally the only good thing about it. The hull is clumsy, easily burnt, and exceptionally vulnerable from the sides, all while being spotted from the Moon. Don’t get me wrong, she’s still strong thanks to the magical soviet guns, but really not OP. Take away the accuracy and there is zero reason to play her left. Rather be in a Petro already...

Stalin lost its appeal for any kind of comp now, she is simply 2 easy to burn down when focused, in Randoms and possibly even Ranked to a degree ahe still works as you can use the taters as a meat shield while plinking from long range but thats inceedibly boring and I never liked playing her in Randoms because of that...

 

She did pay for my Black and Burgogne though... :Smile_trollface:

Dear Commanders!

 

We hope you are havin a fun time with deadeye so heres some more balans to make the game more enjoyable!

 

Stalingrad all stats increased by 3x cus of forumites saying it was balans enuff. :fish_happy:

Super Stalingrad added to tier 11 on request of some forumites. :fish_happy::fish_happy:

 

Will balans when daytah is collected (I.E 8 patches away).

 

Good Luck and Fair seas!

I still like Stalingrad a lot but Petro does have many advantages in exchange for long range accuracy, pen angles and HE.

 

Playing Stalingrad bow in and it just doesn’t last long against carriers, fires and dead eye HE spam. It needs to played as a roving cruiser but has a larger turning circle than a GK! 
 

When played well, it can be more effective than the Petro but mistakes are punished very heavily. 
 

I’m now using damage control aggressively and hoping for Kunetsov to save me if I get set on fire again while low.

Dats why she need her own reewurk. Also i don't have the game installed, nor will i been about 8-9 months since i touched the game too be fair.

I think Stalingrad 2 was the one with AP only and DM AP angles? Dunno if it had some other traits...

Played one Stalingrad game yesterday... 54k damage because you cant just be caught bow in :cap_haloween: Well TBF, it was a roflstomp win, so i guess same result with any other Cruiser too...

At that point, the bow was the same that we have now, I believe.

During the update 0.7.7 two versions of the ship will be tested.

First one includes all of the previous changes:

Added HE shells with the following characteristics:
Initial Shell Velocity 950 m / s; Maximum HE Shell Damage 4500; Chance of Fire on Target Caused by HE Shell 33%.
Firing Range is reduced from 22,890 to 20,350. Reload Time of Main Battery is increased from 18.5 to 20 seconds. Rotation Speed of Main Battery is increased from 4.5 to 5.0 deg. / sec.
The parameters of the dispersion ellipse are set to similar values of the Graf Spee cruiser (better than battleships, but worse than common cruisers). The parameters of ricochet angles of the AP shells are changed to the standard values.
Part of Stalingrad's casemate with 180 mm armor belt is recategorized as citadel, effectively making the citadel bigger.
Amount of citadel HP restored is increased from 10% to 33%.

Due to the dispersion ellipse enemy battleships are going to be Stalingrad's primary targets, yet firing at other classes becomes more effective. This version of cruiser still has a choice of HE shells, which allows her to be useful in most battle situations.

Changes in second version compared with first:

Only AP shells.
The parameters of the dispersion ellipse are set to similar values of the common battleships.
The parameters of the ricochet angles of AP shells are equal to the values of the American cruiser Des Moines.
Sigma was increased from 2.05 to 2.25.

The thickness of armour required to arm the shells was reduced from 51 mm to 34 mm.

Second version of the cruiser is a continuation of HE-less kind, and it balances her against the same tier adversaries, while making her less dependent on individual player's skill due to the weapon accuracy. At thesame time, lesser arming threshold of the shells allows the cruiser to deal more consistently.

Please note that the information in the Development Blog is preliminary.

 

The funny thing is that - overnight - WG combined the the best stuff of these versions into the final release... :Smile_veryhappy:

Wow, they really did.

 

AP version had battleship dispersion with 2.25 sigma, release has battlecruiser dispersion with 2.65 sigma!

All it seems to miss out on is 5 degrees of ricochet angles AND it gets HE!

 

Fortunately, they didn't give it Petro's magic citadel.
